1. How old are you and what state do you live in?
I am 28 years old and I live in Indianapolis, IN
2. When did you become a member of TYT?
I believe it was in 2008
3. How do you consume the show?
I try to watch it live, but that doesn’t happen often so I download the shows as soon as they are available on my Mac from the membership page and then airplay them to my Apple TV so I can see Cenk in all his glory on my living room tv. I go through the trouble of explaining all of this because I find it much easier to navigate through David Pakman’s website to the full show and members only bonus show, add them to my YouTube “Watch Later” list and watch on my Apple TV.
4. What field do you work in?
I am a Unified Communications Engineer Consultant in the IT/Professional services realm.
5. How would you describe TYT in 5 words or less?
True, Common Sense, Lifestyle, Addictive
6. Do you have a favorite TYT moment?
I do. When the, “Ladies and Gentlemen, we get ‘em” clip happened
7. Who is your favorite co-host? Why?
Oh man, it has to be Jimmy Dore. He is funny and all of that, but he makes some serious points. Close second is Dave Rubin because of the same reasons.
8. What motivated you to take the extra step of becoming a paying member?
I wanted to consume as much content as humanly possible!
9. Are you surprised that the The Young Turks has grown into a multiplatform network of multiple channels?
I am not. I think that it only takes a couple of views by someone that is “mad as hell” and has common sense.
10. Cenk often talks about the TYT brand as “truth telling.” What does this mean to you as a member?
It means that TYT is not about the same old dog and pony show that is constantly peddled to the average citizen. It means that people may be able to open their minds and their worlds if they only heard the truth.
11. Which TYT host would you get coffee with? Which one would you go to the bar with? Who would you have dinner with?
I have to say Jimmy for both. I honestly wish he was on every day. I want to hear him as much as possible.
12. If you were a co-host on the show, which story would you cover? Why?
Right now I think it would just be in general the propaganda being spread by the right wing. Just yesterday I was able to defeat the War on Christmas claims of a friend by asking everyone on the Facebook post if they have ever come across someone that asked them not to say “Merry Christmas”. To which they all replied with a resounding “No”. Offffffffffff Cooooouuuuuurrrrsssseeee.
13. Have you ever communicated with other TYT fans? If so, how?
I haven’t. It is one thing that I wish was a little more natural and easier to do. Then again I haven’t exactly searched high and low for forums and other types of media.
14. Has the show convinced you to change your position on a particular issue?
Yes, too many to list. Coming up in the Marines since I was 17 I was always around right wing gun nut Americans. Because freedom. When I decided to get out I started to open my mind a bit.
15. Have you ever referred membership to anyone? If so, what did you say?
I have. I always sell it by letting them know there is a place that you can go to find truth and common sense. I tell them that when I watch the show I am in agreement on most issues before I even know TYT’s message or angle on that particular story.
