1. How old are you and where do you live?
I’m 28 years old, 29 on Monday, and I live in Germany. Was born in Croatia and lived for about 5 years in Austrailia.
2. When did you become a member of TYT?
I think I became a member about 1.5 years ago(When it was announced TYT was getting a new studio). However, I have been watching TYT for much longer(aprox. 4 or maybe even 5 years now).
3. How do you consume the show?
Primarily via Youtube since it is how I got to know about TYT in the first place.
4. What field do you work in?
I am a service technician and travel around the world to our customers.
5. How would you describe TYT in 5 words or less?
Awesome, informative, funny, honest. And, in a way, gives me sense of familiarity.
6. Do you have a favorite TYT moment?
Not a specific moment but the overall moments, when you can clearly see that everyone is having a good time.
Or also when Cenk gives his “enraged” speaches or when John gets dissed for trying to be the person with the highest morals or when he is being a “feminist”(not meaning this in a negetive way).
7.Who is your favorite co-host? Why?
Ana Kasparian, John Iadarola, Kim Horcher, Tim Frisch
Although the more time passes, I disagree more and more with Ana. It seems to me as if she is getting comfortable in her position(not that she doesn’t deserve it) and with that getting more cocky in a way, I guess.
But that’s just my opinion from what i see in “few” short videos. So i am not judging her overall as a person just the part she shows the world. And that comes with her job(the being judged part).
8. What motivated you to take the extra step of becoming a paying member?
When I see a good cause and/or product, then it becomes a question of how I can support it.
Becoming a paying member was an uncomplicated and fast way of doing so.
9. Are you surprised that the The Young Turks has grown into a multiplatform network of multiple channels?
No, not really. If the other shows are as good as the main show, then I am not surprised at all.
The only surprise is that TYT isn’t even bigger….but then again bigger is not always better.
Lets just say it has a lot more potential, particularly internationally.
10. Cenk often talks about the TYT brand as “truth telling.” What does this mean to you as a member?
Well it is written right there….telling the truth. I think it is one of the most honest news outlets if not even the most honest. I don’t sense a leaning in any particular direction except towards the truth. They are very clear in the way they give the reports.
11. Which TYT host would you get coffee with? Which one would you go to the bar with? Who would you have dinner with?
Coffee: I honestly cant think of any host, that I wouldn’t get a coffee with.
Bar: Again, all of them.
Dinner: Again all……so yeah I basically like them all and think if we would meet we could be good friends.
12. If you were a co-host on the show, which story would you cover? Why?
There are quite alot of things I would like to do a story on. Can’t really think of one right now. But I like science(astrophysics) a lot and it worries me what we as humans are doing to our environment and what kind of world we are leaving behind for the future generations. So I guess some story which has to do with one of those two subjects.
13.Have you ever communicated with other TYT fans? If so, how?
No.
14. Has the show convinced you to change your position on a particular issue?
No, not really, because my way of looking at things is very similar to the way the hosts of TYT do.
Maybe some minor things of which I couldnt think of as an
example at the moment.
15. Have you ever referred membership to anyone? If so, what did you say?
Well not a membership, but I have talked to a few friends that they should take a look at the show and tell me what they think.
Most of them don’t stick to watching the show due to their more locally based interests(since we live in Germany) and because not all of them understand English all to well.
