1. How old are you and what state do you live in?
35 – Minnesota
2.When did you become a member of TYT?
I joined in July of 2006. I believe this was pretty soon after the membership was first offered.
3. How do you consume the show?
If I can download the videos in the morning I do. Otherwise I listen to them as a podcast on my iPhone (downcast is my podcatcher of choice.)
4.What field do you work in?
I am a computer programmer.
5. How would you describe TYT in 5 words or less?
The most honest politics show
6. Who is your favorite co-host? Why?
Ben is by far my favorite. I think him and Cenk really help balance each other. I wish they still co-hosted the show like they did originally.
7.What motivated you to take the extra step of becoming a paying member?
I remember one day I could no longer listen to the full show (and post game) on my podcast feed anymore. I checked why and saw they were moved to a membership. I immediately signed up for it then.
8. Are surprised that the The Young Turks has grown into a multiplatform network of multiple channels?
Not really. I knew they were special and had hoped they would keep getting bigger.
9. Cenk often talks about the TYT brand as “truth telling.” What does this mean to you as a member?
I love that I don’t feel like I am getting bullshit when listening to TYT. Cenk really does correct himself all the time. It makes me trust them more than any other news source.
10.Which TYT host would you get coffee with? Which one would you go to the bar with? Who would you have dinner with?
I would do all of them with Cenk. I would love to get a chance to pick his brain on all sorts of topics.
11. If you were a co-host on the show, which story would you cover? Why?
The item that I want the Young Turks to cover most is the Y2K bug. The reason is that I think it’s a great example of something that was actually a problem (though over hyped in the media.) However, since it affected the rich, it was fixed before it became a real problem.
12. Have you ever communicated with other TYT fans? If so, how?
I haven’t really.
13.Has the show convinced you to change your position on a particular issue?
I think I always waffled on the death penalty. I am now very adamantly against it. The opinions various hosts supply are great for that.
14. Have you ever referred membership to anyone? If so, what did you say?
I have, though up to this point no one has bit and taken the leap. Most people I talk to just don’t seem to care enough.
