57, and I live in the San Bernardino mountains of California, the Assembly district of Tim Donnelly (of Colbert Report fame) and Republican, Paul Cook.
2.) When did you become a member of TYT?
When TYT left Air America.
3.) How do you consume the show?
Podcast. I have a very long commute and an otherwise busy life. I listen while taking care of the rest of my life.
4.) What field do you work in?
I’m currently teaching political science at nearby community colleges.
5. How would you describe TYT in 5 words or less?
Entertaining, often informative.
6.) Do you have a favorite TYT moment?
Not any one in particular.
7. Who is your favorite co-host? Why?
Ben Mankiewicz; he’s funny and makes great observations.
8.) What motivated you to take the extra step of becoming a paying member?
I enjoyed the show when I listened on Air America and wanted to continue listening.
9.) Are surprised that the The Young Turks has grown into a multiplatform network of multiple channels?
No.
10.) Cenk often talks about the TYT brand as “truth telling.” What does this mean to you as a member?
It means they talk about what they think is most important regardless of whose feathers are ruffled.
11.) Which TYT host would you get coffee with? Which one would you go to the bar with? Who would you have dinner with?
Cenk for coffee. I hate bars. Dinner? I don’t know.
12.) If you were a co-host on the show, which story would you cover? Why?
Higher education funding, the plight of adjunct faculty and the appalling decline of California’s public college/university system. I would especially focus on Prop. 13 and the disastrous effects it has had on the entire country.
13. Have you ever communicated with other TYT fans? If so, how?
No.
14.) Has the show convinced you to change your position on a particular issue?
No, but over the years it has brought some issues to my attention that I hadn’t been aware of before hearing about them on TYT.
15.) Have you ever referred membership to anyone? If so, what did you say?
I talk about it to various people, but as far as I know, they haven’t started listening/watching.
