We’ve all heard of Slenderman- the horrifying web folklore creature that is the center of many creepypastas, or scary stories and legends curated and shared on the internet. Previously very obscure, many creepypasta tales have become more popular, including Slenderman, who is widely seen not only in games, but popular culture as a whole. There’s of course r/NoSleep, the subreddit dedicated entirely to scary stories told as if they are real, as well as other video games that seem very connected to the creepy online story world.
