During a hearing before the New Jersey Senate State Government Committee to call for a constitutional amendment banning money from politics, Committee Chairman Jim Whelan made a statement regarding the worst part about being a politician. Republicans and Democrats together, he said, hate having to constantly raise money. It’s a burden that politicians can’t ignore but would be able to if money were not the dominant factor it is in today’s politics.
