1. How old are you and what state do you live in?
I’m 56 years old, from upstate New York, female and a grandmother. I know I’m not the typical TYT member, but I love the show!
2.When did you become a member of TYT?
I’ve been a member since January 2007, but I listened to the show for awhile before that when it was on Air America.
3. How do you consume the show?
I podcast the show and listen to it in the car while I drive to and from work.
4. What field do you work in?
I work as an attorney for the State of NY in the field of child welfare.
5. How would you describe TYT in 5 words or less?
TYT speaks truth to power
6. Do you have a favorite TYT moment?
I’m not sure I have a favorite TYT moment. I guess it could be when Cenk was at Occupy Wall Street and announced the formation of Wolf-Pac (in the pouring rain!).
7. Who is your favorite co-host? Why?
My favorite co-host is Ben Mankiewicz. He was the permanent co-host when I started listening and I’ve liked listening to him ever since. He’s smart and has a good sense of humor. I enjoy it when Jayar gets involved in the conversation, too. He has really good insight into the issues.
8. What motivated you to take the extra step of becoming a paying member?
I was motivated to become a member when the show went off of Air America. I was hooked, and wanted to still be able to listen during my commute every day.
9. Are you surprised that the The Young Turks has grown into a multiplatform network of multiple channels?
I am not really surprised that the show has grown into a multi channel network. It’s been impressive to watch it grow over the years. I never doubted that Cenk had the ambition and ability to create a network like that.
10. Cenk often talks about the TYT brand as “truth telling.” What does this mean to you as a member?
I like that the brand of the show is truth telling, and it’s a major reason I have listened for so long. I know that Cenk will tell the truth about issues and often will talk about things the mainstream media won’t report on.
11. Which TYT host would you get coffee with? Which one would you go to the bar with? Who would you have dinner with?
I’d like to have coffee with Ana, dinner with Cenk and would go to a bar with Ben.
12. If you were a co-host on the show, which story would you cover? Why?
If I were a co-host, I’d probably want to cover a story about goofy Republican politicians and the things they say, just because I find those stories amusing.
13. Have you ever communicated with other TYT fans? If so, how?
I haven’t communicated with any other TYT fans.
14. Has the show convinced you to change your position on a particular issue?
I can’t think of any issues that TYT has changed my opinion about.
15. Have you ever referred membership to anyone? If so, what did you say?
I haven’t referred membership to anyone.
