“Rush Limbaugh once donated a sizable chunk of change to a Texas abortion fund, but he probably had no idea.

That’s because the conservative radio host became the beneficiary of the Texas Equal Access Fund, which provides financial assistance for low-income women, only with the help of a Dallas-based author named Merritt Tierce, according to the Dallas Morning News. Between 2005 and 2011, Tierce served Limbaugh (and his guest, NBC sportscaster Al Michaels) at the local steakhouse where she worked. The host reportedly left extraordinarily generous tips for Tierce both times — $2,000 on each occasion! — but the writer didn’t feel that she could keep the money in good conscience.
