“A new outside ad aimed at boosting Republican candidates in the midterm elections is gaining attention — and raising eyebrows.
The 60-second spot, “Dating Profile,” was released by the group Americans for Shared Prosperity, which is run by Republican millionaire and California winery owner John Jordan, according to Politico. He wants to fight back against the Democrats’ “war on women” rhetoric.
The ad features a woman who says she no longer cares for Barack Obama after she “fell in love” with him in 2008 and stuck by him in 2012 when “our relationship was in trouble.” She becomes angry, and says, “I know I’m stuck with Barack for two more years, but I’m not stuck with his friends.””* The Young Turks hosts Ben Mankiewicz (Turner Classic Movies) and John Iadarola (TYT University) break it down.
