“Fox News contributor Ben Carson drew raised eyebrows from Bill O’Reilly on Thursday when he expressed skepticism over the frequency of domestic violence in the U.S.
“While discussing former NFL running back Ray Rice’s hitting his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, this past February, O’Reilly asked, “You know how many millions of men do that? It’s not an isolated deal. It’s a terrible plague.”
“’I’m not sure that’s true,’ Carson told a surprised O’Reilly. ‘To have a man who is an NFL star who is very, very bulked up against a –’
“’I’m telling you, battery against women in this country and around the world is just out of control, doc,” O’Reilly interjected.'” *

Since when have the Young Turks sided with O’Reilly? That’s not only ODD, is says quite a bit about your dissing of Dr. Carson, If any of you were ‘handled’ by O’Reilly. as he bullies Dr. Carson in this interview – the man didn’t even get his point across before he was cut off. Your perception of the ‘epidemic, or “plague” as O’Reilly puts it, of wife beating and abuse of women is clear – you even have your DOJ stats to back it up. So let me get this straight – you’re defending someone for bullying his guest? We didn’t even get to hear what the doctor was going to say; and Bill jumps him with an issue that is obviously a hot button for the host. Looks like an ambush to me! And you yuck it up because what you seem to express is the same quality of mentality that easily could bully, belittle., and even abuse. I’m sorry, maybe I didn’t hear your solution to the epidemic, I didn’t hear Bill’s either. It is easy to slam people when you don’t want to hear them. Oh, wait – I guess that’s what Ray Rice was doing to Janay too…. How are you different?
Bill O’Reilly has a few issues that seem uncharacteristic, but he’s actually quite consistent. The environment was one, he breaks with his leftist network on the importance of that, and domestic violence. In his book, he writes about finally being big enough to stand between his father and mother when his father was on a rampage. He has repeatedly said he HATES bullying…
But the ironic thing is how – even in talking about how he stands up against bullies – that he tends to use his size, voice, and obvious host status in some cases, to completely bully his guests with whom he disagrees.
While I can’t say I agree with a lot of his politics, I do appreciate that he’s not toeing some line, that he has his own opinions issues.
