Ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Palestinians (represented by both Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas) struggle to take hold. GUEST BIO:
Calev Ben-David is senior correspondent for Bloomberg News in Israel, where he has worked for the past six years, including as bureau chief. He is the former managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, where he worked as a reporter, editor and columnist for over 20 years, and also served as a senior editor of The Jerusalem Report.
Ben-David has taught journalism at the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center’s Ofer School of Communications, and serves as a frequent commentator on Israeli affairs for the international media, including the BBC and Al Jazeera.
He was a contributing author to the book “Yitzhak Rabin, Warrior for Peace,” by the staff of The Jerusalem Report. Ben-David is also the former founding director of the Jerusalem office of The Israel Project, an NGO that provides information and assistance to foreign journalists in Israel.
Born in New York City in 1960, Ben-David graduated from New York University with a degree in Film and Journalism in 1982, and made aliya in 1985. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife and two daughters.
