‘Find My iPhone’ App Leads To Deadly Knife Fight

“A U.K. man has been charged with murder after using Find My iPhone to track down and kill the thug who stole his son’s iPhone at knifepoint earlier in the day.

Derek Grant reportedly used Apple’s tracking software to locate the nearby thief after his son was robbed on his way home from work at McDonalds. When Derek confronted the thief and demanded he return the iPhone, the thief blinded him with a knife to the eye, which Grant says caused him to lash out in self defense and kill him.

Grant retaliated for the cut to his left eye by using a knife he brought from his house for safety, to repeatedly stab Bradley. The thief was finally found around 1:15 am and taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where he subsequently died of cardiac arrest.” *

  1. So let me get this right. George Zimmerman looking for trouble shoots an unarmed kid and that was okay. But this man comes up ask for his iPhone and some punk kid stabs him in his eyes and when he defended himself he goes to jail. That just does not add up!

    1. one happened in the US one happened in the UK, Carrying a knife you plan to use as a weapon in the UK is illegal, which is it’s own crap storm, but this guy had an illegal weapon and used it to kill, not saying I agree, but that will be the legal stand point (like a guy a few years ago who killed two people who tried to rob his house, he got jailed because he held the gun he used illegally, not for the shootings)

  2. yes this happened near where i live i think there is no grounds to charge the man defending himself when it was seen he was attacked first
