  1. The relationship between sitting and most of those diseases you mention is CORRELATIONAL not CAUSAL. It may be simply that those who have those diseases are inclined to sit more, e.g., fat people. The extra weight CAUSES them to have the diseases, and also CAUSES them to want to sit more. In this particular example, however, the extra weight COULD be affected by sitting less, but that’s not guaranteed.

      Wrong. There are several diseases that cause weight gain. PCOS and hyperparathyroidism are two I can name.

      I know an Olympic class athlete who was destroyed by hyperparathyroidism and it is made worse by assumptions by people like you.

      I know skinny people who never exercise who are very unhealthy.

      I know some “fat” people who are very active and are very healthy.
