Professor Richard D. Wolff. is one of the world’s leading Marxian economists and is a professor of economics emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, where he taught from 1973 to 2008. He is also currently currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School University in New York. He is also a founding member of the Green Party of New Haven Connecticut, is the host of Economic Update, at WBAI in New York City, and has co-authored 13 books, most recently “Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism” in 2012.
Do we have true capitalism? What exactly is Marxism, and why does it exist? Most Americans have a knee-jerk reaction against Marxism, but is it fully justified to not even speak of it? What political histories and structures are compatible with different economic systems? Is there a positive role Marxism has taken in national and world economies?
Avowed capitalist Cenk Uygur discusses these questions and much more with Professor Richard D. Wolff.

Pingback: Good interview with Marxist economist Professor Richard Wolff | Politics and Hip Hop
Very happy to find this site, found as I search to everything and anything with Mr Wolff’s name attached. Shall be coming back.
What a dear man he is.
And I truly love Noam Chomsky, but Mr C has a wee bit of a problem in communications. He says it like it is and the establishment and confirmed are turned off. However . . .
Mr Wolff is definitely a Wolff in sheep’s clothing as he is the great uncle of wisdom everyone wants to sit upon his knee.
Together these two could move the world. I hope they form an intellectual relationship and that the Wolff has long legs for gentle kicks sent under the table.
Namaste and care,
mhikl
He’s wonderful. Thanks, Cenk, for interviewing him. I was excited when I saw his picture on the site. I first understood who he was when I saw a video of him teaching people in Zuccoti Park about socialism. He’s a great teacher. He explained to everyone what the U. S. would look like if we were Socialist. I hope you can have him either as a guest on TYT some time or interview him again.
I’m glad you conducted this interview. I wrote to you guys a while back and requested that you interview him. I’ll just tell myself that the interview was a result of my request. :)
You really should interview him again and get more into what what Marx actually said and some ideas for how to proceed in the future. Thanks!
