“Bill O’Reilly is very fond of talking about “the machines.” And he did it again tonight, telling Megyn Kelly that “the machines” are why President Obama got elected and reelected. Kelly admitted she used to think O’Reilly’s musings on “the machines” were just the ramblings of an old “fuddy-duddy,” but she had to admit that she’s come around more to seeing his point of view.
Kelly said having all these machines infiltrating our lives (ATMs, online groceries, texting) has led to an “erosion of our culture, of our family values.” And even the traditional family dinner is no more. O’Reilly said it’s because of “young people addicted to the machines.””* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Demonize these alternative sources of information, restrict your child’s access to them, let their opinions be formed by us. Not doing this makes you a bad parent and a dysfunctional family.
I think that’s the gist of it. He’s worried about the loss of the control of the flow of information by a few voices.
