With the World Cup in full swing, Ana and the panel react to a story revealing that prostitution and human trafficking of minors is quite common during this World Cup. Prostitution isn’t illegal in Brazil. If you are not a minor, you can exchange sex for money. But children are also being forced to take part in this during the World Cup, with children as young as 10 having sex for as little as 50 cents. The panel discusses solutions to this very unfortunate and sad problem.

I’m Brazilian. Your U$ 0.50 is about our R$ 1.05. That’s close to 1/700thof our minimum wage. Trust me. There’s no one having sex for that.
Child prostitution IS a serious issue here. Specially in cities that get a lot of tourists and even more so during events like Carnaval or, in this instance, the World Cup. ButHowever, saying that children would be forced to sell themselves for sex in exchange for what doesn’t buy an ice cream cone at McDonald’s is just unrealistic.
