“President Obama announced Thursday that he is sending up to 300 U.S. troops to Iraq to help Iraqi military forces deal with an onslaught by radical Islamist fighters inspired by al-Qaeda.
Addressing the Iraq situation in a statement from the White House Briefing Room, Obama insisted that he would not send combat troops back into Iraq. He said the contingent he is sending would operate as “advisers.”
He stopped short of openly calling for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to step down, but he stressed that Iraq needs leadership that is more accommodating toward the country’s ethnic and religious minorities.”* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and John Iadarola break it down.breaks it down.

I personally think the idea of working with Iran is a bad idea. I just thin we are walking on a tight rope here over a pit of vipers. Just bothers me putting down soldiers with Iran and their 500,000 odd something army to their back and ISIS to their front. Not to mention the billions of dollars worth of armored vehicles, guns, and ammunition that we left there and are now in the hands of ISIS. This will not end well my thoughts are with the soldiers and the families of the soldiers that were sent there.
