Day 6 of the World Cup 2014 got underway in similar fashion to previous games with the underdog taking the lead. Algeria went in front early doors with a penalty, however inspired substitutions brought the game back within Belgium’s grasp as they escaped 2-1 winners in Group H. Algeria got the show started when Belgium’s Vertonghen made another foolish error inside the box resulting in a penalty awarded for Algeria. Feghouli calmly slotted home the Pen to put Algeria in front. The second half saw Belgium switch things up with the introduction of expected starters Fellaini and Mertens, which rallied Belgium on to victory as both players got on the scoresheet.
Turk of the game was awarded to Belgium coach Marc Vilmots for his second half decisions, where as Algerian striker Nabil Ghilas collects the Jerk of the game for his over the top barnet !!
Who is your Turk and Jerk? Did Belgium live up to their hype?
Are they still favorites to go through as group leaders? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
