Sex workers in Brazil are in gearing up for an influx of foreigners for the upcoming World Cup by brushing up on their inglês during once-a-week classes.
More than 600,000 foreign tourists are expected in the South American country for the four-week tournament, which kicks off June 12 in Sao Paulo. And more than a few of them will likely use the services of the country’s some one million prostitutes in a nation where the world’s oldest profession is perfectly legal.

In Belo Horizonte, a city of nearly 2.5 million people some 270 miles north of Rio de Janeiro, sex workers have spent months learning common English words like the days of the weeks — as well as some more raunchy terminology related to their profession.
The city will host at least one game, Costa Rica vs. England on June 24, featuring a country with predominantly English speakers. The language is the third most-spoken worldwide.
