“One of Watch Dogs’ gameplay mechanics sees protagonist Aiden Pearce able to hack into the cellphones of passers by and bring up their personal information, such as their name, age, income, occupation, hobbies and criminal record. The majority of these details are randomly generated, though some NPCs have been purposely put into the game by Ubisoft, such as actress and part-time Ubisoft representative Aisha Tyler.
With that being said, we’re not sure of which category the hooded, black NPC named “Kavon Fortin” falls into, though we’re hoping its the former as if it’s the latter it appears to be an horrendously distasteful reference to Trayvon Martin.”* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

This is some Fox News level B.S.
It’s a randomly generated name. You are starting to embarrass yourselves, and us TYT…..
Guys, seriously, this is a headline I’d expect from The Onion.
You know better than not doing any research. You have not done any research other than what you have sporadically heard from other media outlets about the games success. I know this, because HAD you done the research you would have found that this WAS random, like all the other NPCs in the game, and HAD you done the research, you would have seen that, just like krngq81 says, the npcs change from mission to mission. So it wasn’t a scripted event, just a funny coincidence that someone shared.
I expect better from you.
If you guys did your research you would see that in the game ALL characters get random occupations, income & statuses. Another player would run into this character and it could say “Youth Leader at a Church” Income $12,000, etc.
I LOVE it when people put in their two cents on video games who aren’t gamers at all.
Ok, so let’s say that the Ubisoft developers DID name Kavon Fortin after Trayvon Martin. So what? In the video, the reporter is saying, “This is not funny at all.” Yea….so is the majority of the game. The game is a serious game and I don’t think they were poking fun at the situation at all. My take on it is the developers of Ubisoft included the NPC as a tribute to Trayvon. Why is he dead? Because ALL RANDOM NPC’S CAN DIE IN THE GAME. Stray bullet, explosion radius, wild driving, whatever. The only reason why they’re all upset about it is because “Kavon Fortin” is dead in the ONE screenshot they kept showing. Also, I’ve failed a lot of missions and repeated them quite a few times. Each time, the enemies with names are randomly generated. I’m guessing Ubisoft created a large pool of NPC’s for the game’s engine to pull from to spawn near the player. Right at that moment when that player was playing, the enemies that were spawned was pulled from that large NPC pool and “Kavon Fortin” was one of them.
C’mon guys. V. Ellis Wade is right. You’re definitely reaching here.
Come on, TYT. I love you guys to pieces, but you’re seriously reaching on this one.
