“In 2010 Richard Humphrey was sentenced to 29 months in prison for operating several pirate sites, including the popular USAWarez.com and USATorrents.com.
Earlier this year Humphrey, who is a well-known and controversial figure in the warez community in various roles, went back to jail after he violated his probation of an unrelated offense. This time he was sent to Lorain Correctional Institution in Ohio, where he was surprised to see that pirated copies of “Ride Along” and “Wolf of Wall Street” were being played for inmates.
According to Humphrey the movies were shown while they were still playing in theaters and had clear earmarks of being pirated copies. Baffled by this apparent display of deviant behavior by prison staff, Humphrey notified the Deputy Warden and the Warden about his complaint.”* The Young Turks hosts Ana Kasparian and John Iadarola (TYT University) break it down.

I go to the movies all the time. However I do not buy DVD of a movie unless it is very good movie. The downloaded material that is being pirated I would never purchase anyway. I down load series like Stargate stuff and Game of Thrones. I will never purchase a tv series. I will never purchase second rate movies. I buy great movies and still download them from pirate bay so my DVD is in good condition. I am in the music industry and I am not too worried about people downloading my CD. If they really like it they will buy it. Furthermore, I do give donations for stuff like the new Star Trek TV show. Instead of imprisoning people they should be fine and the money goes
to new TV series pilots or new movies that need finance.
Agreed. Except why would anyone download from a public site like pirate bay? If you’re doing that you’re doing it all wrong.
putting someone in prison for file sharing or running a file sharing website is ridiculous by all means, thats like locking someone up for feeding 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. I am the Lord go to http://www.christsake.com to read my story
