“”I’m going to have to exempt myself under that white privilege banner,” O’Reilly said.
Fox News host Bill O’Reilly denied that white privilege exists in America and cited his past experiences of growing up on Long Island and working at an ice cream shop as reasons for why he is not privileged.”*

I understand that minorities or the soon to be majority are profiled everyone knows it to deny it would be ignorant. However I do not benefit from being white either, almost every time I get pulled over usually for nothing except “following to close” or “Seat belt” which I have never done either. (No tickets or criminal record at all) But ever time I get these lines “are you on drugs son?” “Any weed or cocaine in the car?” “Mind if we check?” So on and so forth. I’ve had my car ripped apart and been left on the side of the road, on more than a few occasions, with all my car seats out and all my stuff thrown everywhere. I don’t even carry and I damn sure would never drive under the influence. Why does this seem to happen to me? Because I am a poor kid driving a beat up car and hanging out in a “nice” neighborhood, my friends happen to have money. I laughed my ass off when the guy on the far left said I benefit everyday from the color of my skin.
You should try to explain to my fellow Appalachians some who don’t even have running water or power that they are ahead of the game because they are white. The issue I want discussed is the hatred for the poor. People of this country don’t give a damn about the poor no matter what the color. That’s one of the main reasons they tried to destroy the Occupy movement because it was trying to help the poor. But some of us like myself came from very little and still have very little. You should address the hatred for the poor, black or not. Sure minorities are far more likely to be poor due to some amount of racism no doubt. I know as soon as someone reads this they will immediately go to the he’s from the south and he is poor so what does he know? It’s that same line of thinking that they have too. If you saw a well dressed black man next to you on the train and me on the other side you wouldn’t think, ‘oh I bet this black kid is going to rob me’, it would be look at this loser over here wish he would sit further away. So I leave you with this thought when these discussions come up why is it no one ever acknowledges the fact that all poor are profiled discriminated against?
