A 22-year old woman was in danger of losing critical brain functionality; she suffers from a life-threatening bone disorder that caused her skull to thicken over time, impairing her brain and eyes. The prognosis seemed very bleak, but her neurosurgeons were able to successfully remove part of her skull, replacing the critical bone with a 3D-printed replacement.
