Capital One recently sent a creepy contract update to its members that makes it clear they can drop by your house or place of work any time it pleases.
See excerpts from the contract update in the video.
The 4th amendment applies mostely to searches and seizures by law enforcement, not civilians. So a credit card company can technically reserve the right to visit your home or office without a court order.
It’s worth noting that a Capital One spokeswoman is defending the bank and saying the whole thing is being blown out of proportion. But you can’t deny the ominous language in the contract update like “modify or suppress” people’s caller ID capabilities and identify itself “in any manner we choose.”
Do you believe Capital One when they say the language is being misunderstood?
