New Law Would Cut Water and Electricity From NSA Headquarters

Lawmakers in Maryland have introduced legislation that would deny the NSA “material support, participation or assistance in any form” from the state, meaning no water or electricity to NSA headquarters. This comes as a response to the NSA allegedly ignoring the Fourth Amendment.

According to the Washington Post the NSA signed a contract for water to cool a computer center which is under construction. The deal reportedly involves up to 5 million gallons of water a day for nearly $2 million a year. As of 2006 the NSA’s headquarters purchased as much electricity from Baltimore Gas & Electric as the city of Annapolis.
