Philip Seymour Hoffman will be CGI in Hunger Games Finale

Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead of an apparent drug overdose just one week ago. While many mourn the loss, others are left to pick up the pieces his death leaves behind. Lionsgate, the company producing the Hunger Games finale movies, Mockingjay Part 1 and Mockingjay Part 2, decided that Hoffman’s character, Plutarch Heavensbee, will remain in the movie with his un-shot scenes either re-written, or with his likeness added digitally. Is the perfect way to handle this, or is it not right to portray an actor’s likeness post-mortem? Is it disrespectful, or owed? How do audiences handle watching facsimiles of deceased actors?
