Is the NFL Doomed?

4,800 former players have joined in a lawsuit against the NFL for brain trauma they may have suffered that the league was aware of and did little to mitigate. A judge recently set aside a $765 million settlement, saying that the amount was insufficient. As concerns about the harm caused by repeated concussions become more widespread, will parents increasingly discourage their sons from playing football? And will the inevitable lawsuits, not only against the NFL but also against the NCAA, universities and others associated with the game, render competitive football no longer viable as a money-making entity. Is it possible that a multi-billion enterprise like the NFL could be brought down in the span of a generation?

Our panel discusses these issues and more on this segment of “The Point with Ana Kasparian.”
