We have seen mascots come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from animals to mother nature. For New Orleans mascot Pierre the Pelican, scary is not a strong enough word. Maybe it has become too horrific for some; Grantland’s Zach Lowe tweeted that the Pelicans will be changing the head of their mascot to make it more subtle and less intimidating, shocking, alarming, creepy and bloodthirsty.
