Why is it that birth rates among millennials in the United States are lower than for previous generations? Is it the down economy? Are younger people merely waiting longer to have kids, figuring that they’d rather get established in their careers and create a firm financial foundation before beginning to procreate? Or do members of Generation Y simply not want to have children at all, much to their parents’ chagrin? And if that’s the case, are they being selfish?
