Hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are being wasted on name-brand drugs, according to a study by ProPublica. Experts claim that there is very little difference between generic drugs and name-brand drugs, adding that most of the doctors who are prescribing name-brand drugs are financially linked to the companies that make the drugs. Lissette Padilla and Tabetha Wallace discuss the impact that could be made in saving taxpayer dollars if doctors start prescribing generic drugs, in this clip from the Lip News.

when your doctor is prescribing the drugs, simply ask for the generic drug instead. you are paying them, they are working for you. if the doctor won’t do this, don’t pay him.
or, have a public health care system like we do in canada, and this problem goes away!
