“Mayor Bloomberg signed a bill into law Tuesday raising the legal age to buy cigarettes from 18 to 21 — making New York the first major city in the country to enact such a restrictive law. The law will take effect in 180 days after Bloomberg put his signature on the measure, passed by the City Council last month.
