A Spirit Lake, Idaho Council Member is accused of flashing his privates after a bar altercation and then tried to use his municipal government position to avoid charges. President Obama issues the first sentence commutation of his presidency to a nonviolent drug offender who was convicted and sentenced to federal prison under questionable circumstances. As far as pardons and commutations are concerned, Obama has been stingier than his past two predecessors.

Wait, in high school? I haven’t said the Pledge of Allegiance at a school since elementary (which was a Christian private school). Then we moved and I attended public schools and no one ever said the pledge. Since then, the only time I’ve heard the pledge recited was ironically at Christian events.
One word, “Nebraska.”

Cenk undercuts his own argument that Medicare and SS are going to be cut by rightly pointing out that NO ONE – not people on the left, not people in the center, not even Tea Partiers – want that to happen. The Tea Party faction in Congress is willing to go on a suicide mission to repeal Obamacare because their own constituents are cheering them on back home. But no one will be cheering them on if they try to cut entitlements. It will create such a huge shit-storm that they will all eventually back down before it happens. When their calls are running 95-5 against such a proposal, it will be instantly dropped.

This might sound crazy, but what if the secret objective behind shutdown/default is to dump gold commodities? Remember the Gold bubble just a few years ago? All the dumbasses watching FOX were buying up gold, betting that the world would end in 2012 lol. Now the stock markets are shooting back up but their capitol is tied in gold. Perhaps that’s really why the Republicans are being so obtuse and stalling for what looks like no reason. Maybe they want the demand for gold to go up, so they can liquidate theirs (at a lesser loss) and invest in stocks instead.
Like if you look at gold prices right now, it’s actually going down, despite the looming “nuclear” default possibility. Wth right? If all that nuclear shit was serious, gold should be going up, but instead it’s going down. I’m guessing that’s because a lot of people are dumping. This will be their last chance to dump gold for a loong time.
