Some of these warnings were even delivered in person at George W. Bush’s ranch in Texas. “You know what Bush’s response was?” Cenk quotes from a Washington Post report: “Bush reportedly heard the briefer out and replied ‘All right. You’ve covered your ass now.'”

Cenk delves deeper into Kurt Eichenwald’s New York Times investigation on the CIA briefings that warned of terrorist attacks in the months leading up to 9/11. According to Eichenwald, the Pentagon declared Bin Laden’s threats to be an attempt to distract the American government from Iraq, which they saw as the real threat. “Because they’re obsessed,” Cenk says. “They gotta go to Iraq. That’s what they came to do, start a war with Iraq. Who cares who’s actually gonna be a threat to us?”

Michael Shure presents his exclusive DNC interview with former Alabama governor Don Siegelman on the day that Siegelman is to report back to federal prison. Siegelman feels that he was targeted by Karl Rove and the Justice Dept. for being a successful Democratic politician in the South. The problem with the charges is, as Cenk puts it, “they wound up going after him for a bribery charge, on a case where he didn’t get a dime.” Siegelman and his family were at the DNC, and his daughter Dana got a chance to speak with Rove in person. “He cut me off right away,” Dana says. “Started shaking his finger in my face and said ‘Tell your dad not to use my name to make money’.”
