Segment 1
Cenk hosting today. Dick Cheney wants credit for the assassination of bin Laden, claiming that Obama needs to pay attention to his briefings to see the light. Cenk goes into detail about the briefings the Bush Admin completely ignored before 9-11. Cenk lists the failed people that worked in the Bush Admin that are prepared to serve in a Romney Admin. Video of McCain calling Obama’s foreign policy an abysmal failure. Poll about how much credit Obama gets for getting bin Laden. 31% say that they are not sure, while 6% say Romney. Among Republicans, 15% say that Romney gets credit.
Segment 2
Sheldon Adelson’s tax advantages if Mitt Romney is elected. Polls on who is more likable between Romney and Obama. Repealing DADT has had no negative effect on the military.
Segment 3
Graphic anti-gay political ads determined to scare people into voting against certain politicians that pandered to the gay vote. Cenk sees the truth behind these ads, but doesnt like the negative angle they took. Reince Priebus getting smacked around by Chris Matthews at the RNC about the birth certificate and welfare. Cenk annoyed by the “objectivity” of the media, while ignoring the facts. Bill Maher vs. Tom Brokaw.

I cringe every time I log in to watch a recorded show. WTF is up with the member page?
Another thing; F.D.R. did have warnings about an imminent attack by Japan days before Pearl Harbour. This isn’t a conspiracy. The information is openly available.
The warning was given two or three days before the attack itself and (as far as I know) didn’t name any possible targets.
FDR’s administration knew that *something* was going to happen on the 7th, but they didn’t know what it was or where it would occur. The possibility of Pearl Harbor was considered, but FDR thought it was unlikely because the Japanese and the US were going through diplomatic talks at the same time…
Very, very different from Bush, who knew that an attack was being planned months before 9/11 and actively refused to do anything about it.
You know…I’ve never liked conspiracy theories and practically every single one of them is idiotic. And even now I’m not buying that Bush planned it; that’s ridiculous. But now I can’t help but wonder if Bush *wanted* an attack – any attack at all – just to have an excuse to invade Iraq.
Just a small wake-up call for TyT. This sept. 11 info was available before and right after the actual 9/11 attacks.
REBUILDING
AMERICA’S
DEFENSES
Strategy, Forces and Resources
For a New Century
HOW CLEAR does it have to be…they at LEAST simply ignored it to fall within these “principles”. How CLEAR does it have to BE?! When can Cenk make the jump that these guys at LEAST ignored it to suit their “ideology”. They WANTED it to happen…they NEEDED it to happen. Whether they HELPED, I dunno…but this in my mind is just TOO MUCH.
Look up “New American Century”….THAT’S why they didn’t do anything…”A new Pearl Harbor.”
what i don’t understand is why people actually donate to republicans. i mean ok, the rate of return would be 2200% if romney is elected and so forth, but it’s impossible he will get elected, not only because of all the polls, but because of all the horrible mistakes he has made and will make during the campaign. so if you weight the returns with the probability of romney winning, i think you’ll rather loose money in this deal. and these big donors know exactly what their doing with their money, they must have calculated it carefully. i mean, you are also definietely careful with a sports bet if the return will be big, but the odds are bad as well, it’s just a big risk overall. so unless there is not some kind of immediate return, i think donating to republicans at least is extremely risky.
Keep in mind…that in Congress, 94% of those with the most money win…this isn’t these donors first rodeo. The odds are on their side with the money. The difference between Congressional elections and the Presidential election is that quite a few more people pay attention during the presidential. I can easily say that over 80% of the people I work with do not know who their Congressional representatives are. They KNOW who Mitts is, and in spite of the drivel they pick up from the media about how much a socialist Obama is, they don’t like Mitt. It’s not hard to understand why…he’s a very unlikable person.
Now this is why I am a member, man that first segment was boss, great hour, I hope that Bush segment picks up a load of views on yt
please turn the 9/11 bit about osama and bush doing nothing into a clip for yt
HOLY SHIT!! The Pentagon said this is JUST a FALSE FLAG Operation?!?” 7:20 Uhhhh….where have I heard THAT before?!? Look up what “false flag” means.
Why is it that 95% of the people I know, won’t care about how much the Bush administration either screwed up protecting this country, or let an attack happen so they could perpetuate more war? Why is it that we are so divided, when it’s obvious that there are powerful players pushing us toward more war and dividing us at home with propaganda? I don’t know what to do to fix it. Protesting doesn’t work. A violent uprising won’t work. Our only hope to save this country is like Cenk says, we need campaign finance reform to get these major financial war profiteers out of our elections and our politics. I don’t see that happening anytime soon though.
i have an idea of why people responded that romney should get credit for killing osama. i think that those 14% are really so uninformed that when the question was posed, the mention of mitt romney actually made them think, “wait, did romney actually do something to deserve credit? well since they are asking me he must have done something, so yes…. yes, romney deserves the credit.” i think the question itself justified their answer
What is scary is that you may be right!
You give Sheldon Adelson way too much credit by assuming his motives are purely financial. He is currently under investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department for bribing Macau government officials, violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. $100 million dollars to buy the election is a cheap get out of jail free card.
The ferry from mainland China delivers gamblers right to the doorsteps of his casino. It’s very important that he keep that concession. A competing company had filed a lawsuit. And they were in court in Macau, and the other casino was winning. They won at the first level, they won at the second level, and they were by all accounts about to win at the final level when the chief executive of Macau stepped in and, by executive fiat, said, no, I’m giving the concession to the Sands (Adelson). I’m not going to let this court case go forward.
The 10-member counsel that advises this chief executive? Well, it is 10 members and includes one Mr. Leonel Alves, who was certainly in a position to help influence this decision. Leonel Alves has three different posts. He’s an adviser to the executive who rules Macau, he’s a member of the Macau legislature, and he’s also a member of a committee within the mainland China that advises the ruling Communist Party on policy. And oh yeah, Adelson hired him as a lawyer so he is on Sheldon Adelson’s payroll to this day!!!
Really want to thank you guys for such awesome reporting. I was 11 years old when 9/11 happened and was born in a deeply republican family. I grew up thinking the republican way was best and that george bush was a great guy. Only when I started looking at issues for myself did I start to disagree. Sadly most of the people I know are still stuck in that backwards and blind mindset. It is completely true that people with this mindset ignore facts. It is truly sad and looking back I’m angry that kind of influence affected me growing up. I very rarely comment on anything and really want to say I’m so glad I discovered a news organization not afraid to say how it is, and for keeping it real.
Just have to add, fantastic job with all the recent work. From the Android debacle (especially since it wasn’t your fault, RSS authentication isn’t standardized), plus the full videos available now.
Fantastic stuff, keep up the great work TYT.
Thanks for understanding! We appreciate it!
