How do I renew my membership?

We handle that for you! Your membership will renew automatically, but if you want to update your credit card or something else, you can do it here.

How do I cancel my membership?

Oh no! We hate to see you go! But if you must, head to your account settings page and click on the 'Cancel Membership' link.

What are gift subscriptions?

Gift subscriptions are a way for you to give the gift of TYT membership. They are available in pre-set durations of 3, 6, or 12 months or you can buy a renewing membership that will continue for as long as you like. Gift memberships are available for purchase at both the TYT Insider (link to benefits) and TYT Activist (link to benefits) levels.Give a gift subscription now.

Can I purchase a gift subscription for someone who is already a current member?

No. You can only give a gift subscription to former members or people you know who have never been a member before.. If the intended recipient is a current TYT member in good standing, they won’t be able to redeem the gift.

Can I personalize my gift?

Yes! When you purchase a gift membership, you have the option of identifying yourself by name or nickname. You don’t have to identify yourself at all if that’s what you prefer. Likewise, you can personalize the gift using your recipient’s name or nickname. You can add a short note with your gift if you like; if you’d rather not that’s OK, too. Finally, you can choose a theme for your gift to reflect what you (or your recipient) like about TYT. A theme is just a different visual treatment for the gift email your recipient will get, and we’ve selected some of TYT’s leading personalities (including Mariguana!) to choose from. (The theme will default to Cenk if you don’t choose one.)

How is the gift membership redeemed?

When you purchase a gift membership, we ask you for your recipient’s email address. After your gift purchase is completed, an email containing your gift message and a link to redeem the gift is sent to the recipient email address you provided on the date of your choosing. Your recipient only needs to click the redemption link in the email, and set up the account with an email address, name and password.

Can I purchase multiple gift subscriptions?

Yes, multiple gift memberships can be purchased in two ways: 1) when buying a gift, look below your credit card information and click “Add Another Gift” to your Shopping Cart before checkout; or 2) if you’ve already purchased a gift, go to “My Gift Accounts” and click on “Purchase Additional Gift Subscriptions.” You can mix and match fixed-duration and renewing memberships; TYT Insider and TYT Activist memberships using either method described above.

Can I schedule the delivery of my gift?

Yes — you can set the date the gift email will be sent to the recipient during the ordering process. You can also choose to have the gift email sent immediately after purchase. Please note: Access to the gift subscription begins once it is redeemed by the recipient.

How will I know that my gift email was sent when scheduled?

The redemption email will not be sent until the delivery date you specified during the purchase process. On the scheduled delivery date, we’ll send you a copy of the same email your recipient received so you’ll know that it was sent and what was said.

I tried to give a gift subscription and the recipient never got the redemption email — what should I do?

You can resend your gift email any time (for gifts that haven’t been redeemed) from the “My Gift Accounts” page. Please note: you can only resend your gift email once every 24 hours up until the time it’s redeemed.

How will I know when my gift has been redeemed?

Just check the status of your gift on the “My Gift Accounts” page. Each gift you’ve purchased will display up-to-the-minute redemption status.

What are the terms of sale for gift subscriptions?

Gift subscriptions can be one-time or recurring purchases. The full purchase price for fixed-duration gift subscriptions will be charged at the time of purchase and is nonrefundable. Renewing memberships will be billed each month (or year, if annual gift memberships are purchased) until cancelled.

How are gift subscription purchases billed?

For fixed-duration gift memberships, you can use any credit card you like. For renewing gift memberships, you must use the same credit card that you use for your own renewing membership, if applicable. This is because TYT’s payment processor only allows one form of payment for renewing memberships of any kind (your membership and your gift memberships). You can change the card you use for your renewing memberships (including your own) in the Shopping Cart if you like.

Can I buy different levels of sponsorships at once?

Absolutely! You can mix and match any way you want and each type of sponsorship will have its own unique URL and redemption code.

What's the difference between buying a “gift”, buying a “sponsorship”, and buying an Amplify package?

There are a couple of differences but all are buying TYT membership(s) for other people. Gifting is typically done when you have specific people in mind whom you want to have a TYT membership. Sponsorships are a way to support TYT by buying memberships in bulk and distributing them to people or organizations you may or may not know well. Amplify packages allow you to buy bulk sponsorships for specific groups that TYT will distribute on your behalf.

How is the sponsorship redeemed?

When you purchase a sponsorship, you’ll be provided with two different methods for getting it distributed and redeemed:

  1. A unique redemption URL. Using this method, all your recipients need to do is click through your sponsorship URL and register an account with TYT to start accessing their membership.
  2. A unique redemption code. Using this method, your sponsorship recipients would click through a “Redeem a Sponsorship” link at the bottom of any page on tyt.com, enter their redemption code and register.
In either case, TYT will honor every redemption that we receive on your unique URL or code, up to the number of memberships you have purchased. Visitors attempting to redeem your sponsorship after all membership spots have been claimed will be told the sponsorship has reached its limit and to purchase their own membership.

Can I cancel the subscriptions I’ve purchased? How?

You can only cancel monthly recurring memberships. Fixed memberships (3, 6, and 12 month one-time purchases) cannot be canceled. You can cancel subscriptions under your account. If you have any trouble, you can contact us at [email protected]. Please note that you cannot cancel Amplify Package subscriptions, as these are all fixed term memberships.

What happens when I cancel my sponsorship?

You will receive a sponsorship cancellation confirmation email, and your sponsorship status will change to “Canceled” on your account page. Your sponsorship recipients will likewise receive an email informing them that the sponsorship has been cancelled and their membership privileges will be revoked on [date], along with a link to purchase their own membership.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card will be charged as soon as you purchase your subscriptions -- even if they’re never redeemed. The full purchase price for fixed-duration gift subscriptions will be charged at the time of purchase and is nonrefundable. If you’re buying a recurring monthly sponsorship, your card will be charged on the same date the following months until canceled. (Example: Buy it on Oct. 8 and you’ll be charged Nov. 8, Dec. 8, etc.)

What is the Amplify Program?

By purchasing AMPLIFY packages at TYT.COM/AMPLIFY, TYT members have the opportunity to spread the TYT message and the progressive agenda to current and future journalists. Each AMPLIFY package will deliver a set number of memberships to predetermined media, news, and journalism industry recipients.

What's the difference between buying a "gift," buying a "sponsorship," and buying an Amplify Package?

How are the Amplify memberships redeemed?

If you buy an Amplify package, your work is done after purchase is complete! TYT staff will take care of all the distribution of the memberships you purchased. Please note that we will make our best effort to see that your memberships are redeemed by the intended recipients. We cannot guarantee that all Amplify Package memberships will be redeemed, but we will do everything in our power to see that they are. We'll call. We'll write. We'll tweet. TYT will attempt to distribute these memberships to the best of our ability for a period of up to six weeks using all methods available to us. Memberships can be redeemed for up to one year from the date of purchase, at which point they will expire.

How will I know if and when my Amplify memberships are redeemed?

We'll tell you! If you purchase an Amplify Package that includes a target group, TYT staff will begin reaching out to the intended recipients via email, telephone, and social media. TYT Staff will be able to track exactly who redeems your sponsorships and when. Anyone who has purchased an Amplify package will receive at least two emails from TYT Staff within six months of purchase updating you about the status of your Amplify memberships. If at any time you'd like to check on the status of your Amplify memberships, please contact [email protected].

Can I use memberships that I purchased in an Amplify Package for my friends and family?

Unfortunately, Amplify Memberships are non-transferable. If you want to buy a membership for a specific person or group of people, please refer to tyt.com/gift or tyt.com/sponsor.

What happens to unclaimed memberships?

Memberships that have not been redeemed by the target recipient will expire after 1 year from the date of purchase.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card will be charged as soon as you purchase your Amplify sponsorship subscriptions -- even if the included memberships are never redeemed. The full purchase price for fixed-duration gift subscriptions will be charged at the time of purchase and is nonrefundable.

Can I cancel the subscriptions I've purchased? How?

You can only cancel monthly recurring memberships. Because all of the Amplify memberships are 12-month fixed term memberships, they cannot be canceled.

How do I get my T-shirt?

When you purchase a sponsorship of $150 or more, we will reach out to you at the email address you provide upon purchase with additional details. Domestic shipping will be free, international shipping charges may apply.

How do I name an item in the studio?
