Jesus Godoy serves as the director/technical director of The Young Turks, the largest online news show in the world. While his primary focus is the pre-production and live direction of the popular off-script talk show, his responsibilities also include overseeing TYT’s production, studio, and crew, as well as managing product development and sales for the online store. He makes on-air appearances as Chief Justice of the TYT Supreme Court, making tough but fair decisions on pressing issues of the day.
He is also the creator and executive producer of TYT Underground, an unfiltered show that gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of TYT as well as the LA underground sub-culture.
Jesus studied at California State University, Los Angeles where he received a B.A. in TV Broadcast & Film. While working full time at the school’s student union, Jesus joined The Young Turks in 2002 as an intern handling radio production for the show and has since evolved with the company becoming a pioneer in live web TV production. He earned the nickname RockNRoll Jesus from Cenk Uygur because of his go-to heavy metal music selections during shows in the early days.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, son, and dog, Nacho. Jesus is passionate about music, politics, baseball, tattoos, street art, and motorcycles.
