The gap between the world’s richest and poorest is increasing, according to a study conducted by anti-poverty charity Oxfam International, which found that by next year, one percent of the world’s population will own more wealth than the other 99%. Winnie Byanyima, executive director of Oxfam International, pointed out the dangerous gap ahead of this week’s annual World Economic Forum in an attempt to to demand urgent action to reverse it. The annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland attracts top political and business leaders from around the world.
