The Supreme Court has agreed to take on the gay marriage issue and will decide whether the Constitution allows individual states to ban same-sex marriage after refusing to hear appeals from seven states where statewide bans on same-sex marriage had been invalidated. The hope for gay marriage advocates is that the court will establish a national constitutional right to same-sex marriage.
