  5. There’s nothing ‘murky’ about these ‘Private’ firms, and whether Free Speech considerations should be relevant.

    They are ‘Private’ only on paper. Because of the colussion between the State and their behavior, they are NOT Private.

  12. I just figured it out.

    1a ~ All we have to do raise Medicare rates to meet what insurance pays the Medical Industry (docs, hospitals, Big Pharma, medical gadgets & gizmos, etc).

    1b ~ Then, since Insurance companies will have a huge drop in revenue, we hire former CEOs and then pay bonuses for the best & brightest, top talent, to minimize costs (I mean, c’mon, medical procedures are expensive). The more they cut costs, the bigger their bonuses! It’s genius!

    OR…
    We just expand the current Medicare system to include ALL Americans.
    Maybe to start, have people sign up thru old ACA site.
    Don’t use the original ACA designers, cuz they sucked. Maybe hire some 15-16 yos to straighten out asap.

    I think I know which plan would have CNN crowing how fantastic the “New Medicare” is.

  17. Now as far as youtube censorship goes, I had a video pulled down about a decade ago. Viacom or someone pretending to be Viacom did a copyright strike against my content where I talked about GTA V’s Gametrailer review and linked to it. All the content was my own. I just described things that happened, while talking into a camera, and in the background you could see the “You Died” screen from Resident Evil 5 on a tube t.v. in the background. That was literally all the video was, but it got pulled down.

    Youtube is not a perfect thing, there was no legal or literal reason to pull my video down, the way my video was pulled down was illegal, but it was an absolute wake up call early on. It’s why me and some other political commentator start ups never made a huge push on Youtube.

    I have a youtube channel with 50 subscribers, one with 91 subscribers, both gaming ones that are 99% defunct and were never treated as serious projects but just ways of sharing gameplay with friends, and my political channel which had 105 subscribers which I retired because I didn’t want my youtube channel to risk getting shut down because it was tied to my Gmail which ended up getting all my email tied to, so if I ever talked about the wrong corporate giant and lost my channel the risks to my email were too great.

    So these are some of the many reasons I never attempted to make money off of Youtube, and why I can’t find it in my heart to feel super bad when people get screwed over by Google when youtube has been pretty much screwing over content developers for over a decade. They always have done it, they always will do it, and while yes it sucks, but if you dont’ think it’ll ever happen to you arbitrarily for reasons or for no reasons at all… you’re an idiot. Youtube has always screwed over content developers and changed how they do things, and make it increasingly more frustrating to be a content creator.

    Just keep in mind none of this is new, you can be censored even if you’re just some ugly fat guy talking into a camera about gametrailer’s review of GTA V with a whole 100 subscribers, on a channel that records SD Video game footage just to share with his friends. So yeah… left wing political commentators might have to deal with some of the very same issues that made me go “You know what? Probably not worth building an income off of this because everything could be taken away at any moment with no warning at all”

    If 20 year old me could figure that out… not sure why people act so surprised.

  18. Can Abby Martin please replace Ana on the main show? It would be nice to have a principled commentator who isn’t ready to give up a free and open Internet just to drive a knife into Alex Jones’ back.

  19. It’s incredibly frustrating to see Jimmy Dore lie every week.

    He knows that TYT doesn’t support Free Speech because if they did support Free Speech I’d be able to upload videos to TYT Network and get it Published. Alex Jones would be able to upload videos. No instead they go to back rooms and discuss who to hire, where to spend their resources, should it be a youtube t.v. special, should they have a podcast, and therefor by Jimmy’s own admission they are not pro-free speech.

    Yes Jimmy you are defending Alex Jones when you talk about him. You aren’t defending his right to free speech, because the thing is all your rights have limits. Whether or not we agree about gun ownership via the 2nd amendment and whether or not I personally should be allowed to own a gun, no matter where you come out on it, that 2nd amendment does NOT guarantee me the right to go into a crowded movie theatre and start shooting people.

    Alex Jones should be locked up and arrested for false advertising in the same way that Kevin Trudaeu was locked up for Coral Calcium provided his supplements are being falsely advertised in an aggressive manner, and more so he should be locked up for lies and slander against the families of victims of shootings, who he has directly harmed in a way not covered by any measurement of freedom of speech, or free speech, unless your line in the sand is that the 2nd amendment justifies stand your ground laws, and the 1st amendment justifies calling people pedophiles and saying someone should end their life before they harm more children.

    Notice how the standard I’m advocating for can’t be used to shut down left wingers. Unless we’re falsely accusing people of being pedophiles or are relying on angry mobs to go and harass people because we said they are crisis actors who didn’t loose any children in a shooting that never actually happened.

    See the difference? Now those aren’t the reasons Alex Jones got pulled down, but they should have been and THAT is the heart of the issue. You can attack Alex Jones, advocate for Free Speech, and understand that TYT Network, Youtube, and Facebook shouldn’t be required to publish videos of people being murdered or children being sexually exploited.

    That sidewalk is big enough to be able to avoid certain things, point out certain things, and be able to walk comfortably without getting hurt. I wish the messaging on this was better but Jimmy Doore would rather call himself an idiot comedian rather than actually honestly talk about where the different sides of opinion on how speech should work, comes down.

      So, are you saying because you cannot upload videos to TYT’s platform they don’t support free speech? I cannot go to any television network and force them to air any content I produce. That alone doesn’t mean they don’t support free speech. I think I’m missing your point in that paragraph or missed something Jimmy said if you’re quoting him.

      I agree with the rest of your points and the way you laid them out. That’s mostly what I’ve been thinking since Jimmy started arguing against Alex Jones being taken down. Another point I’ve been pondering is whether platforms are also removing his content to be overly cautious in avoiding any lawsuits against them. I don’t think any litigation would end with them being liable; but may not be worth dealing with.

        TYT and YouTube are both private businesses. They have every right to decide behind closed doors what is and isn’t hosted on their sites.

        But Jimmy argues that YouTube should have to go to court to ban content from their website.

        Jimmy even quoted Matt Taibbi about how the system of libel laws has worked with media for decades. Jimmy was saying this should also work for YouTube. But Jimmy fails to acknowledge that newspaper censor what goes in their newspapers everyday. They don’t have to go to court to prevent someone from putting something in their paper.

        Jimmy has great passion and we all love him for it. But he lets his passion cloud his judgement.

And now we want to disrupt Iran because that country made a deal with 4 neighboring countries – the Caspian Sea deal.   28. Why do I have so much trouble watching TYT? I can only get a few minutes of a live show and maybe a few more minutes when it is taped and then it shuts down and I can’t get it back. The same thing happens with The Jimmy Dore Show and Redacted Tonight. It is making me nuts.

  29. Ro Khanna is supporting Nancy Pelosi. Add that to his stupid endorsing the wrong person and trying to fix his mistake by doing a double endorsement. He’s a multi-millionaire. He seems to be changing his progressive claims. Can anyone stand up against the offer of unlimited money especially someone who was already a millionaire. How can he really understand what it is like for the rest of us. Khanna was mentioned so I feel I can make this comment here.

The main show is all Trump and his scandals and “Down goes …who cares?” Keep on covering and telling the truth about the issues Progressives really care about: the corrupt corporate media, the corrupt corporate DNC and getting money and corruption out of politics.

  34. EVERYONE needs to learn that TAXES DO NOT FUND federal spending. So NO NEW TAXES are needed to provide healthcare for all, just PLANNING. Also, employers SHOULD NOT be paying for it – give people more mobility and just give them healthcare. Keeping healthcare linked to employers gives CORPORATIONS the control, and we want to BREAK that paradigm.

  35. It’s great to see Abby Martin and Mike Prysner on Aggressive Progressives. They’re brilliant. It was frustrating to listen to Jimmy repeat himself so much during most of the first hour, especially when Abby and Mike could have chimed in. But eventually Abby tears into the establishment over censorship, which was amazing. It makes me happy that Jimmy gives her a platform to fight against the empire. I encourage everyone to check out Media Roots Radio on sound cloud.

    1. Totally agree with kwknight’s comments. What’s happening to Abby and Mike is so critical to get out to audiences, it’s too bad the panel wasn’t able to get to it until 1 hour in. Abby and Mike are great contributors and a perfect fit for AP. As a member who loves the show, I’d like to put in my request to TYT to have AP on twice a week.

      Last request, would be great to have Mike Taibbi as a guest on a future AP show to talk with the panel about his article.
