Is there any way you guys can see how many views the Friday post game gets since I’d be curious to see how it does compared to the rest of the week.
You have no idea how happy and giddy I get when my comments are read. It happened once last year and now I do it all the time in hopes they get read again….but also cause I have a lot to say. Thanks Malcolm, you guys rock!
— Obligatory comment to increase my chances of getting on WWN —
Dave – your haircut is very nice, you’re looking handsome today!!
Moreover, Dave’s solo post games are the BEST, no further discussion required.
Could the Friday post game be posted on Friday morning? This would allow it to be there as soon as the main show has ended.
I don’t root for murderers escaping from prison. I don’t know what’s wrong with you guys.
If Trump goes to prison are you going to root for him to escape?
I think it’s the feeling of imprisonment being wrong, that it’s sad that we need to resort to such things. Escaping from prison is like regaining freedom, something we can all relate to considering our own mental prisons.
Plus context matters. They’re talking about East Germany, or from a tv/movie perspective.
This is the most comments I have ever seen on a Friday post game. The club is becoming so popular! Also, I really hope that when my name gets picked that I have Dave play for me, unless Dave’s not there, then I’ll take Steve!
I am a “proud 19” and I always love this show, entertaining and informative, progressive and intelligent. Alex from Quebec
I always knew Cenk was a giant potato.
That’s what I’m talking about! Steve has gone back to sucking on WWN. Order has been restored in the world. Thanks guys for taking my feedback to heart.
Yes! WWN is way more hilarious when Dave’s low key stoicism trounces Steve’s bravado.
I’m 63 and have been an atheist and a ‘progressive’ (read humanist) since I was old enough to understand or care about life. Sometimes arguments and discord such as the Jimmy/Steve thing get us to where we need to be, unpleasant at the time but worth the present pain.
Friday Post Game is a real treat with the three amigos or just a solo amigo but schedule more time for WWN, any less is just jejune! Vive la revolution!!
Can you believe people comment just to win a TYTshirt?
I see the corporate cock sucking continues as the sychopantic praise rains down in this comment section
I will point this out here as I’ve pointed it out in the AP comments – the speed and volume of excuses that poor from Steve’s mouth as his knees hit the floor is in direct proportion to how tightly tied his livelihood is to their zipper
go back and watch the AP’s Steve appears on and notice which corporations he makes the quickest and most strident excuses for … Google/YouTube and Facebook … your masters will be proud Steve – keep up the good work
If no one is aware that you are doing the FPG…why not just film 2 hours and see what happens? Or stay until “Management” actually kicks you out. C’mon, the “Three Amigos” don’t roll over for “The Man”!
Hi there guys!? Love the Friday show. Weekly Whirled News is a great segment, being kicked out of the studio never gets old.?
Yeah, another exciting FPG with the Three Amigos. I loved it.. especially you starting out discussing East Germany and the soldier ‘jumping the fence’. I spent my early childhood in East Germany before the wall came down. Escaping the regime was extremely difficult: many tied but few made it. I couldn’t be more delighted that the wall was torn down, despite all the hardships shortly after reuniting the two Germanys.. thanks for mentioning East Germany’s history. ?
I just want to make it known, as much as a free tee sounds nice, i’d rather donate the value of a free shirt to wolfpac or justice dems or…………….. jimmy dores patreon!! XD
Jimmy is a temperamental artist, and is especially sensitive after dealing with his colleagues at the Turks after the primaries.
He intuitively knew there were some fundamental flaws in their pro-Hillary stances, but couldn’t always articulate it.
Knowing that he’s right, but still losing the debates, possibly made him overanxious about appearing stupid, and defensive. That’s my guess.
He’s got comedy and passion, and a wife who largely shares his worldview. He could be happy with that, and not worry about losing an occasional argument.
Easy for me to say, of course. I don’t have to deal with Russia-obsessed colleagues who get daily practice at supporting their pet issue.
who was pro-Hillary?
TYT was NEVER pro-Hillary. They were always anti-Trump. And there’s no point re-litigating that because it’s history and everybody has said more than their piece about it.
But I do agree with you about Jimmy maybe feeling a bit self-conscious. On his rare appearances on the main show since the 2016 election, he usually seems very tentative in presenting his views unless he can fall back on the same talking points and spiels he works into his own shows. Now more than ever he needs to learn how to debate his points in a dialogue and not just in a monologue.
On the Steve-Jimmy fight over free speech/Alex Jones:
I’m glad Steve and Malcolm reined Jimmy in on that episode of Aggressive Progressives. I love Jimmy to death, but lately he’s been going off the deep end with his false equivalencies, straw-man arguments, and blanket statements. All of that combined with his repetitive stream of consciousness rants is making this show borderline unwatchable. It’s unfortunate because he’s much better than that sort of behavior.
I’m glad Steve called Jimmy out on the free speech topic. I’m troubled by the fact that Jimmy paints anyone who disagrees with him as either being part of a conspiracy or being a useful idiot. And on top of that, when someone disagrees with him he will instantly jump down their throat and talk over them while putting words in their mouth without letting them fully explicate or articulate their argument, or even get a word in edgewise.
Going by his argument with Steve, according to Jimmy you’re only sane if you agree 100% with Jimmy Dore. If you don’t then you’re a stooge. It’s all binary. Either you agree with Jimmy’s interpretation of the world, or you’re a chump. Judging by his conduct as of late, it appears like he’s gotten to the point where he thinks he’s the sole arbiter of truth. The way he treated Steve when they had a simple, honest disagreement was abhorrent and doesn’t reflect well on his ability to 1.) parse other people’s arguments 2.) analyze nuanced points of view that don’t line up 100% with his own point of view, and 3.) treat others who might honestly disagree him with basic decency and courtesy. His analysis lately has been pretty reductive and leaves a lot to be desired.
I fully believe Jimmy is better than the behavior he exhibited in this episode, and I hope he humbles himself and improves. He’s a smart guy and certainly capable of better analysis than the sort he’s been giving lately.
because Jimmy IS right and Steve is on his knees sucking hard for YouTube and Facebook – go watch his appearances on AP … tell which corporations he’s quickest to make excuses for … the ones he’s in bed with …
if you don’t understand what danger it is to have corporations continuing to be the gatekeeper while the silence (literally with Google deranking of Progressive web sites) than YOU are the problem along with Steve’s corporate cock sucking for those he’s tied to
@Xenophrenia
Ahhh I see you’ve crawled out of your hole to raid the TYT comment sections once more. Welcome back. Out of curiosity, what sort of conspiracy theories about TYT are you peddling this week? I haven’t heard anything from you since you said TYT was part of a corporate sellout conspiracy all because the site admin didn’t upload a video immediately after the live stream ended. Compelling stuff indeed.
Anyways, I never said anything about concentrated corporate power not being a danger to basic human freedom and dignity. I believe it is, which is why Capitalism needs to go. But nothing is gained in the realm of discourse by blanket statements, straw-men, and false equivalencies -which is what Jimmy has been engaging in lately, which is what I was referring to in my comment. Please take care read next time. :)
Agreed. It’s a shame because Jimmy has a lot of good points, but he just gets so carried away with his own points that he goes too far. I find that more than anyone else at TYT he starts out with his position and then cherry picks facts to support his argument rather than looking at the situation and building up an argument from there. That’s a real warning sign for me of a dangerous ideologue. I happen to agree with him 75% of the time, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t call him out. That’s the kind of thinking that got the right into so much trouble.
FYI for the FPG team: The Nigerian president is ill and travels for extended periods for treatment. That is why the vice president is acting with presidential authority on some matters.
Still here! No worries!
Though last weeks AP was a hard watch!
I was impressed that Steve fought back so hard, didn’t know if you had it in you.
At least now I know you can peacefully defuse any future arguments with the magic word, jejune!
On another note I don’t think you guys would bore people! In fact I would argue that the over sensalization of the news everywhere else is one of the key culprits behind why this country has so much partisan tension at the moment!
My favorite thing to watch is when Cenk talks about how he talks to people on the right, relates to them and empathizes with them as a lead in for getting them to see the logic behind progressive ideas!
That’s the type of thing we all need to learn to do more often!
Agreed, I’m generally a fan of AP, but sometimes Jimmy doesn’t do nuance (maybe he should be part of TTOTBS), and I was glad to see Steve call that out, though I think he made some arguments that were besides the point re: non-political content on YouTube, Facebook, etc.
I’m hoping that AP, like the FPG, continues to serve as a show that highlights issues not discussed on the main show because they aren’t the most popular or topical because that’s what TYT stand out.
WOW that Austrian official is a piece of shit!
OK.
Instead of The 3 Amigos having to choose between WWN and TTTB, PLEASE producers, just give the FPG a longer show!
FPG is a great show, I think the viewership is probably 190K, at least, not 19, so ”Try it, TYT producers, you’ll like it!” as the 60’s/70’s (?) saying goes…
This is very nice of you to say, but did you miss the part about how no one in TYT management (who isn’t on the FPG panel) appears to even be aware that we do this? Still appreciate the sentiment, though!
Just want to add that I was watching on the app, wanted to leave that comment (which I barely ever do) and there’s nowhere to comment that I saw! Hooked on to safari just to put in my two cents … possible app update in the future for comments??
Defenestration comes from Latin, and it’s very literal, no size of window needed
de = out of / from;
fenester (finestra in Italian) means window.
I’m Italian-American and studied a lot of the roots growing up to help build my English vocabulary.
Love Friday post games. I’m 64 years old, a member for over two years, wish I had found tyt 10 years ago. Keep up the good work, even us old boomers can learn something new.
I have a bunch of these to catch up on …
Malcolm gives an incentive for people to leave comments about the Friday post game, and including this post, there are 19 comments… Looks like every viewer has checked in.
Wake up, sheeple! It’s a trap!
I actually enjoyed this post game. Maybe it is because I feel excluded from the club of people who have been around for forever. I have been watching for at least two years but never felt the need to communicate until now. The thing that caught me was reference to a book club. Say more.
You can check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TYTBookClub/
I really hope Urma talks about Colombia! I’m Colombian and I love hearing about my country! And btw I also love the Latin American news that Dave brings. Gracias mi pana!
I’d like to know how many of us they are really. For certain more than 19…
maybe a proud 19 and a jejune 19
Yay, the three amigos! I really wish you folks were given more time. There’s nothing more annoying than hearing “We should probably wrap it up” on every episode. I know it’s just someone doing their job, but the Friday Post Game deserves it’s time to shine!
Malcolm not know what shea bitter is, is perhaps the whitest thing to happen on TYT since John Iadarola was surprised to hear that there were racists in Los Angeles.
What about when I said that Macklemore was the greatest rapper in music history?
That is funny Dardo; did a spit-take!
Ryan, that’s Shea bUtter…
I won a tshirt!
As soon as Dave pulled my moniker out of the hat I was choosing my shirt at the tyt shop.
Thanks Dave!
Congrats Roni! :)
Kind of a cold dis on Steve, but I guess if you’re just going off the historical record, you can’t be faulted. Enjoy the (opportunity to solicit us for a) free t-shirt!
That’s Spencer Lake (or maybe Lake Hillier) in Western Australia.
I started watching the Friday night postgame a few weeks ago and have found it to be a ton of fun! Plus, I can attest to Dave’s awesomeness: I learn a ton from him on solo shows. Dave, keep doing what you do, and don’t sell yourself short! We DO get what we pay for!
Also, I loved that Steve and Dave were surprised by that potato. Their reactions made me love the game (and postgame) even more! Though I’m still pretty new to TYT Membership, I’m now one of the permanent 19.
I felt your anger from AP this week, Steve. Jimmy kept throwing out blanket statements, straw-man arguments, put so many phrases in your mouth when you weren’t saying that, and never letting you get to or finish a point. Both of you had mostly agreements, but Jimmy kept getting caught on the possible disagreements and running marathons with those problems.
Personally, I’m happy to nationalize the platforms that are monopolies to make it more equal, fair, yadda, yadda; HOWEVER, until that day happens, we need to be realistic about what is happening, what we can do, and what changes we may be able to make happen. Which is very much what you were trying to get across and I was getting so frustrated for you not getting to finish your points and just screaming over each other. LOL
And then Malcolm came in and just calmly laid out the argument about it in the current and what changes could be the most effective. Very Malcolm-esque.
Also- just wanting to throw in another voice that [never comments on here, but] does watch a fair amount of the FPG and enjoys them- especially the WWW & the other one I can’t remember the name of while I’m typing this, but you mentioned doing a full FPG of.
Leaving a comment to be included in the hat. Sadly I listen/podcast the post game / all tyt content. But while I’m here. Have to say the Friday post game is my favorite part of tyt with aggressive progressives and old school following close behind. But yeah, wanted to say how much I appreciate your work on this. But I do agree with the other member. We need alonger Friday post game ?
Great show! My husband and I both look forward to the Post Game on Friday – – I guess we are 18.5 and then 19 in the total count of viewers. Michael and I play Weekly World News and he usually wins. We do like totally true or totally bullshit but you have not gotten around to playing it lately. Why cant the Friday Post Game be an hour? Keep up the great work – looking forward to Irma’s “reporting in” trip. “Stay Strong”
So fun fact: South Korea is literally the plastic surgery capital of the world. It’s so prevalent that there’s even a dumb little procedure that adds eyelid creases where there was none. Yeah, apparently that’s a thing, and it’s called Blepharoplasty.
The shit I learn during FPG
ATP is Adenosine Triphosphate. It’s the source of energy for cells. When one of the phosphate bonds are broken, it becomes Adenosine Diphosphate and releases energy.
Is broken
You guys should totally make ‘Reporting In with Irma’ an irregular/regular segment on the Friday post game!
As a child of the 60’s I really have a hard time understanding how living through Civil rights, JFK, MLK, Vietnam, Nixon and then as an early adult Ronnie Raygun that you could be conservative is a total mindfuck, Rock On Gent’s!
As a child of the 50s, I agree with you Bro420. Close to full on Marxist now. #Proud19
