Loser. Beta. Cuck!
If Ana gets any more salty, She’ll have to come with Surgeon General’s warning.
Washington is a lot farther north than Charlottesville.
Maybe the racists couldn’t afford the trip that far north under the Trump economy. After all, I don’t think most of the people marching are CEOs.
There are racists all over, but to me, there seems to be greater numbers in the south where it’s part of the culture. Some of their ancestors owned plantations. Others fought in the civil war to keep slavery.
Put it back in a southern city and I’ll bet you see big numbers again. So let’s not become complacent and think the movement is dissipating because of the turnout.
Did the dude staying in his parent’s house say his dad has been “cucked?”
I’m not ridiculing people who are stuck in their parent’s house. Economic times are tough for us all, but perhaps, don’t throw stones…
I want to echo the sentiment of OneOfNineteen (and would love to know the story behind his handle, just like I wish that everyone with a vanity plate were required to explain it and that these explanations were in a publicly-accessible, searchable database). Now I realize that few people just stumble across the Young Turks and begin to listen to them as regularly as they might watch their local news. I realize that, in large measure, the Young Turks are preaching to the choir. And yes, I realize that the young are, by and large, less interested in smooth, polished presentations than in “keeping it real”. But I still believe that the Young Turks can “keep it real” yet still set an example for their cohort and the cohorts coming up behind them. In addition to excising “you know” from your presentations, here are a few more suggestions:
Try not to make the fact that you are planning on your shows being chopped up for YouTube snippets quite so obvious. Surely your techs don’t need three-second pauses to know where to clip.
Get rid of “Let’s go over here” and phrases like that. I know you already have multiple cameras, maybe you could hire an intern film editor- you can “go over here” in post-production and a film editor gets valuable experience. Heck, you might get them to pay YOU. If you get more into something like “The Newsroom” (THE definitive TV series involving TV news), you will only benefit yourselves and your audiences.
If I don’t hear “I want to give you guys more context” (or something similar) ten times an hour then I am apparently not listening. Trust that your listeners know that beginning with your second sentence of any news story you are by definition giving them more context. It’s not really context that you are giving us, anyway, it is really just more details, and the two can be quite different. While on this particular subject, I know WHY you say “you guys” so often; it’s what everyone from Boomers on has done. But it’s gotten hackneyed and even a bit condescending. Suss out a few old tapes of Walter’s evening newscast, watch them, and see if you can’t get your listeners/viewers to call YOU “the most trusted Internet newspeople in America”.
Cenk, Ben, and most of you: I, for one, enjoy your passion- particularly when it leads to what I call “Julia Sugarbaker” moments (look that up or just find the YouTube clip of “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia”). You say things that the rest of us can only yell to the walls around us, but of course wish we could say to Mitch or Donald or Sarah, or even Chuck. Keep that up. It’s one reason why lots of us watch (and are members). But in the back of your minds, remember that it is your fond hope that non-choir members will come across the Young Turks and stay for the content. And while tossing red meat to your base (yes, Virginia, there IS a Liberal “base”), keep in mind that you want to attract new “base” members, and that you can’t afford to be TOO shrill and still accomplish that. It’s a fine line you have to walk sometimes, but all of you have gotten to the point in your careers where I, for one, think you are quite capable of passing this kind of professional breathalyzer test.
Your base, including me, will continue to watch pretty much no matter WHAT you do (or don’t do). But your base is not so numerous or powerful that you can afford to speak only to US or only in a style that WE like. The much tougher job is to attract more folks to the base, and I think that by tweaking your delivery you can do a better job of that. But what do I know- I’m just a (put your guess of my age here)-old MBA who actually once read “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. Sure, I can be as “creative” an accountant as anyone, but I also learned that “creative accounting” is basically dishonest. Sure, I learned that to connect with people one needs to adopt their preferred style and understand their motivations, but I also learned that many, if not most, people think of that as being manipulative. But if we Liberals don’t get creative and learn how to push people’s subconscious buttons, we aren’t going to affect their thinking.
Just saying.
“The Proud Nineteen” — those of us who are fans of the FPG.
Given your critique of the lack of polish of the main show, you may find the FPG too painful, but who knows…. After Aggressive Progressives, it is my favorite TYT show.
And, I always score better than Steve or Dave, but then again, as Malcolm would say, I cheat — by keeping up with international news. Fun for all, and some education. Where else will you get updates on the Niger River Delta Avengers?
Top 5 Reasosn White Supremacist rally didn’t have a bigger turn-out…
5. Couldn’t get mom to drive them to the rally.
4. Had to take out the trash & feed the dog.
3. Promised dad they would mow the lawn.
2. Mom didn’t have their laundry folded yet. So no clean Nazi clothes.
1. Didn’t clean their room, so Dad said they were grounded.
Recess Appointments for judicial positions wouldn’t have helped, because Mitch McConnell kept the Senate in “Pro-Forma Session”. What that meant was like 1 or 2 senators just had to gavel in during the day and then immediately gavel out and it counted as if the whole senate was there actually working on stuff. SCOTUS also ruled that only Congress, not the President, could decide when Congress was in session or not. Should he have tried anyway? Sure, probably – but Obama did think of that (he was a Constitutional Law Professor after all).
Now to Sarah Sanders, I’m sorry but every time I see her face I want to punch the screen – you know, what scientists call “the Ted Cruz defense”. I’m sick of that lying b*tch and just can’t take it anymore. Anyway the only reason republicans like talking about low black-unemployment so much is because it’s a racist dog whistle (“See I got them lazy ni****s off welfare and into jobs! They can’t be lazy anymore!”) which the rest of the media doesn’t seem able to see (and I don’t know why).
To the stupid chalkey-rally, isn’t Kessler a Jewish last name? Is the head of the Alt-Right who hates Jews just another self-hating Jew? I guess you have to take what you can get when 20 people is your whole protest! And yes, but is his boat big enough to fit another boat inside of it? That’s what’s really important!
I saw an article from last year in The Hill that the Senate is still doing pro-forma sessions to prevent Trump from making recess appointments.
We should be careful regarding our review of the Unite the Right 2.0 rally as a means of assessing the alt-right’s failure.
This movement is now successfully embedded in the Executive Branch and in the Republican Party.
The White Nationalists Are Winning
[Fox News anchors and high-profile politicians are now openly pushing the racism of the alt-right. The fringe movement’s messages have permeated the mainstream Republican Party.]

Ana can you get a grip on using the phrase: “you know”. I realize that TYT wants to be unfiltered and real in its reporting. However, even the lowliest toastmaster attendee will work to improve their presentations. Your use of this verbal-pause is so frequent that it is becoming distracting from the news that you present.
YES! It’s bad enough when Francesca does it, but Ana seems to picked up the habit too.
I never noticed it, you know…
My favorite part of the livestream video was that the guy who ran for senate talks about how he has an apartment and a boat with 3 beds and never offers to let the other guy that is staying with his parents crash on his boat.
I take that back, the guy saying his parents watch a lot of history channel so they are anti-German and are cucked is still funnier.
