  1. So late to the party (catching up because I was ill at the end of last week) and I gotta say I disagree with saying the person shouldn’t have done that to the yacht. I get it we are supposed to be against vandalism but you know this was a great wake up call to show people exactly how big the difference between the average person and the swamp is. It’s a slap in the face to realize she has not only that one but many others while teachers are on food stamps.

I also just thing they handled this wrong. Someone at some point should have told her to shut up and not complain about it to the press

  2. So true on the omnichannel conversation, kids consumption (Z-gen) is completely different than even Y (millennials).

  3. Nice job on the DeVos yacht!

The Majority Report showed that 60% of the 1% are unknown to the American public. Trump’s swamp is revealing the real people behind the 1%.

Cori Bush got caught with out a clear answer to “How should the rich pay their fair share?” This review of the yacht story helps answer that question.

  4. I’ve never had cable ever. I hate all the cable companies. They are way too expensive and no way am I going to pay money just to watch TV so that I get bombarded with irrelevant ads. In many ways it’s a double tax. Yet millions of people still put up with it, an inferior form of entertainment.

I grew up with video games for entertainment because I can’t stand ads. They are so obnoxious.

  5. If I drive my car in a foreign country and it gets broken into, should the police there not look into it because I pay my taxes and car insurance in my home country? Should I not be taken to the emergency department if I need it? What if it catches fire on the motorway? Should the fire dept not put it out?

      1. Ok since I actually saw what you were referencing (I shouldn’t have replied so quickly that’s on me) you do know what hyperbole is right? Also there is a difference between “I am going to be in another country for awhile so I am going to take my car” and expecting protection vs “I am registering my boat in an entirely different country that it will almost never be in so that I don’t have to pay taxes” but still expect it to be treated like it’s registered in America

  6. Cenk, we think scary alike sometimes. I just did the math a day before watching this on how much damage that would be to my $7,500 car… It would be the equivalent of me complaining about $1.88 of damage. HOW DARE MY LICENSE PLATE LIGHTBULB NEED REPLACED (better make it national news).

    1. Actually, license plate light bulbs cost $5-10, more if you want halogen or LED. So it’s even sillier than that.

  7. Haven’t had cable for a dozen years, and only had it the 6 years before because roommates wanted it. Cable’s the same as a home phone. Once people got cellphones, they didn’t need personal land lines anymore.

Tick tick tick tick… tick tick tick tick…

    1. Never once in my life have I intentionally bought cable. It’s gotten to the point where my internet provider literally just threw cable into my internet plan at no cost. They even gave me a discount on my internet service if I accepted cable, no charge for the cable, just “here’s 5$ off your monthly bill, just please take a cable box.” We took it for the discount, and never once plugged it in.

      1. We recently dropped cable because for the first time since my husband and I moved in together (like 8 years ago or so) it was cheaper to just have internet. In our current home we never even set up the box and almost couldn’t find it when we had to ship it in

  8. Cable free for 7 years now. Hulu, Netflix and HBO Now. The other benefit is that I buy gift cards at Fry’s Food to pay for them and get gas points for money off of gas. I have gotten quite a few people to cut their cords and will continue to do so. The difference now from 7 years ago, is there are so many of us that think cable and satellite is weird, than the other way around. I only know of one friend that still has cable. I tell her to shut it off every couple months. It’s not just young people, because I am over 50.

    1. Our family also realized streaming was a better option and ditched cable about seven years ago.
Netflix and Shudder, $15 a month. My wife is Scottish, I Australian and we watch loads of British shows so we paid a yearly $200 sub. for every UK channel with a seven day DVR-type thing.
Through our daughter’s college deal we have HuluPlus and Prime for half price, and I pay for BritBox to watch old Doctor Who and a few others.
Even with all that it’s less than half of what cable would be, so we don’t miss it one bit and tell everyone still shelling out to cut the cord.

  9. I know this is the Post Game which is for Members Only, but I think at the very least the segment on Betsy DeVos’s Yacht and it’s affiliation with the Cayman Islands needs to be made into a public video so we can share it. As a citizen of Michigan (Her home state, I think anyway), let me go on the record and say SCREW HER, AND SCREW HER STUPID YACHT!!! You’re right! Law enforcement payed by the taxes she apparently flew off-shore to avoid SHOULD NOT be used to defend this pathetic, corrupt, leach of a person. She makes me sick! From all of us paying attention in Michigan: FUCK HER!

    1. I came here to say the same thing. More people should be made aware of her scumminess. I mean I love that we get extras for being members, but some news needs to be out there in the public eye, and this is story definitely falls into that category.

  10. That yacht registered in the Caymans is a nice tax dodge to Betsy DeVos! LOL

But WTF is it doing in Ohio north coast in Erie?

  11. Cable cutting predictions are easy to make until you remember that net neutrality has been eliminated. The biggest internet providers are also the biggest cable companies. That’s not a coincidence

  12. TYT is focusing on small potatoes by limiting the discussion to foreign registered yachts. Its a loophole and exploit, but shipping companies are far bigger benefactors of this, and the scale of tax money and wage savings they get away with is much more significant. Yacht registry loopholes are a drop in the bucket by comparison. Get a clue.

  13. You are also right about cable TV. With the poor having to work two jobs there is no time to watch TV. But content with no commercial and you can watch when you want to is done. I find it funny Trump’s slogan was make America great again but it’s like he is telling the Bernie when your president make America great, cause Trump has shown just how far we have fallen from our goals.

  14. Cenk you know your predictions are right just late, and if Alison Hartson,Paula Jean swearengin,Bret Weilder, Cori Bush keep their political beliefs then when they run again it will be an overwhelming win. Especially with the justice Democrats congressional caucuse and president Bernie Sanders endorsement.
