In Aggressive Progressives - On Demand by Waldo Peterson68 Comments

Jimmy Dore, Ron Placone & Stef Zamorano. Dominoes start to fall for Alex Jones after Apple bans Infowars. Healthcare lobbyists bribe Democratic candidates to oppose Medicare for all. MSNBC aired 500 segments on Stormy Daniels but zero on Yemen war. Trump’s antics distract the media from other issues.

  1. IF YOU MISSED IT LIVE HOLY SHITAKE MUSHROOM (can i swear) JIMMY PUSHED STEVE TO THE EDGE. good intellectual exchange but it was nuts. Amost aggressive Aggressive Progressive yet.

  2. Why does it take so long to get the show on here for members? All you have to do it clip of the breaks. It should only take an hour.

  3. Agree 100% on Alex Jones ban. If the justice system decides that what he does is illegal then he should not be allowed to keep broadcasting even on his own website. And he should be liable if his nonsense causes harm to others. But that should be decided in a courtroom and not by google or facebook.

  4. Alex Jones’ wet dream of being a martyr is only made more real by Jimmy Dore’s attack of corporations removing his content. Jones’ content being divisive misses the point. It contained hate speech. It recently contained violent speech. And never forget what that violent speech can do to the frothing mouths who aren’t as smart as the privileged panelists of this panel.

A low, AP. A low, Jimmy. Being a contrarian isn’t honorable if that is repeatedly the primary use of your pulpit.

  5. Here’s what is wrong with using the “real world” analogy of the public square. Lets say someone is at the public square saying racist things. Nobody is really paying attention. Lets then say that he is calling other people liars. He is telling other people that you have lied and are in on a deep conspiracy. Others hear that and then harass you in large numbers. What is your recourse? Well you can put time and money to legally go after the people harassing you with slander and libel laws, locally. Federally, you can use defamation.

However, the difference here is the platform. Youtube isn’t a public square in a town or city where people are intimately informed on local issues or logistically aware. Alex Jones has an army of followers and exploiting a platform against people who don’t have that same avenue or opportunity to defend themselves. Also, Alex Jones is abusing the platform. Causing it to become a place that is causing human suffering. Look at what Youtube is becoming. A hotbed for trolls.

  6. Free speech in the new public square is not the issue with Alex Jones. He has been escalating the hoax theory of Sandy Hook. Causing those poor families to have to continuously move and hide. Because lunatics who listen to Alex Jones have been threatening their lives. And every time these poor people move for some peace, his followers find them and share their addresses. I am surprise that no one on the panel brought this up. The parents of these murdered children cannot even visit there children’s graves because of the insane rantings of Alex Jones…and then there’s Pizza Gate. Alex Jones is dangerous. It’s not just hate speech, he’s become a danger to people.

  7. Stef really nailed what I’ve been saying. Progressives are a powerful force when we march. Look at the March For Our Lives. Now, the NRA is going broke. First, progressives need to get on the same page. Economics solves everything. Fix this country’s festering economic issues and the rest will fall like dominoes. We need one, cohesive message. The federal government is not constrained by tax revenue. They are the sole issuer of the dollar. Medicare for all, free public college and a jobs guarantee are all excellent issues to bring to Washington, in droves. We need to show up with pitchforks and put a new kind of pressure on congress that they’ve almost never felt. I don’t have the network to organize this, but TYT does. Cory Booker would have to at least PRETEND he was on board.

  8. Now I can wag my finger at you poor Americans since you are not covering the war in Yemen. The Swiss are covering the war, but they are embedded with the Saudi Coalition! Really. We regularly get video coverate of Saudi soldiers in the desert shooting off a missile (at $1 million a pop) and they yell Allah Akhbar) Since you don’t have any coverage, let me explain what is happening. You see that Saudi Arabia is backing the Pro-Government forces, and the president of Yemen. But there are rebels, the Houthi, but they are backed by Iran. So you have the Pro-Government going against the Iranian-backed Houthi Rebels. I hope that you know who to be rooting for now. And now we can talk about the latest incident, but this happened after the show aired. Did you know that there was a missile fired by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, and of course it is an Iranian missile. But the Saudis have a great missilie devense system and luckily they shot down in Southern Saudi Arabia, where it killed by chance a Yemeni women. And they have a photo of this missile which is amazingly intact. That was Wednesday. Friday there was a school bus in rebel held territory carrying school children to go to a summer camp, and it was hit by a missile, which likke at least 27. Did I say that it was in Rebel held territory? Houthi media says it was the Saudis, but they said it wasn’t them. Then they said that they were carrying out legitimate military actions in an area that had shot off a missile into KSA. And then the Red Cross said there were many bodies of children in their hospitals. And the Swiss papers started talking about how the rebels have been known to use children as human shields. And another story said that the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have been known to recruit children. And the next day the Red Cross spokesperson said that yes, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels were known to have used these buses to transport military supplies.
BTW, since they didn’t want to confuse anybody on the evening news, and since a Swiss athlete won a medal at a track meet, they didn’t have time to talk about this issue. Isn’t it funny that you can also influence a story by not covering it.
Full disclosure, the two sides will be coming to Geneva for Peace talks. Home of the Petroleum Trading Office, the International Red Cross, several UN offices, many Private Banks, and the summer home of the Saudi Royal Family. I put a story on my linked in page, just for fun.

  9. Comparing the Skokie marches and Facebook is a false equivalency.

Marching on public streets in a single town isn’t comparable to publishing content on a privately owned international platform.

Now is the internet the public square? I think in the modern world the answer is yes.

Is Facebook or YouTube the public square? Unfortunately, we as a society have allowed corporations to become the modern day public square.

But arguing that Facebook, YouTube or any other privately owned company must post your content is also a slippery slope we don’t want to go down.

Therefore, I think the answer may be creating a public internet space for people to post their content, much like having a public road for them to march on. Basically the internet version of public access TV or public access radio.

  10. Free speech is free speech until it’s used to incite violence, then it’s a crime. Alex Jones perpetuates nonsense like Pizza Gate which nearly results in someone getting shot at said pizza parlor and he continually attacked a family who had their 6 year old shot at Sandy Hook. This family(The Pozners) has had to move 6 times and still receives death threats. That should be a crime and that’s enough reason for him to be removed from those platforms.

    1. You are absolutely correct. Jimmy, he incited violence, he called for a whole group of people to be burned alive. This is not a free speech issue. Stop.

      1. What bothered me about this discussion was that no one talked about the consequence concerning the people whose children were killed. They received death threats and some families had to move. In other words, this is a very complicated situation. Merely speaking out against these lies on Facebook or Youtube does not solve the problem.

  11. I’m ashamed to say that I’m still torn on the whole Alex Jones thing and I’m not sure what the right answer is. In some ways there are dangerous precedents being set, and in other ways the platforms are acting perfectly within their rights and according to their terms of service. I need to give it more thought. I find it fascinating how the progressive community is divided on this, and not necessarily in the usual camps. For example Jordan Chariton is actually more on the Cenk/Ana side than the Jimmy/Kyle/Micheal Tracey side for this issue. But I do wish Jimmy, Kyle and others stop presenting this as action against hate speech or unpopular speech, because that’s not what it was about. They all have legitimate issues surrounding demonetizing but should not conflate those with what happened to Jones.

    1. Alex Jones is a special case. He is well within his rights to rant about 80% pig 80% gorilla hybrids that can talk, but when he incites violence against people, that’s when free speech does not apply. It’s only recently when he makes references to “getting people” that he adds “politically” at the end. There are people like the Pozners(their son died at Sandy Hook) who were attacked by him and have had to move several times and still receive death threats. In regards to Jimmy and the crew, I’m finding it harder and harder to listen to them. I understand where they’re coming from, but they’re not presenting the what I feel to be the majority of the information(which they may not mean to do). And the thing that bothers me the most(which I have recently noticed) is that nobody pushes back against Jimmy on the show. He is definitely THE aggressive progressive on the show, but the thing about being progressive is that we’re supposed to have our ideas challenged to make them better. From what I have been listening to, that isn’t happening.

  12. WTF Jimmy was on Joe Rogan yesterday? Did I miss that, as that is pretty big and needed to I hate to say it “balance” out some of the nuts Rogan has on lately.

  13. What do coal companies, wall street banks, and massive social media companies have in common? They are all private corporations that we should regulate to prevent public harm, weather its environmental regulation, Glass–Steagall, or treating large online platforms as public utilities.

If you think massive social media companies should be excluded from this list, then you must be arguing that the erosion of free speech is not a public harm like pollution or boom-bust cycles, in which case you are sorely mistaken.

  14. Anyone who thinks that the size of a company should determine whether or not it is a “public utility” is just as twisted in their brain as Alex Jones is.

Could anyone imagine the likes of Boeing, Exon or Microsoft being held to the same legal standards as a publicly owned government body? No! Nor even on your best day APs. Your position in this matter is totally arse up and backwards

    Sorry Ron.

    #notsorry

    1. Boeing is already one of the most subsidized companies in the US. And the FAA is a joke of an oversight body. Boeing shouldn’t be allowed to manufacture aircraft without real oversight.

    2. It’s not just about company size. I know everyone here hates Alex jones, I HATE HIM AS WELL! But this is about a concentration of power. At this point in time, social media companies have SO MUCH POWER there is a danger it could negatively affect our democracy.

Democracy is based on the premise that power must remain decentralized in order for the society to function properly. It seems to me, that anyone who defends these platforms is doing so strictly because they hate Alex Jones without realizing the implications of what they are supporting. Your hatred of Alex jones is actually blinding you to the fact that THESE COMPANIES HAVE WAY TOO MUCH POWER!

I consider myself a part of the left, obviously, or I wouldn’t be supporting TYT. But a segment of the left, the authoritarian left, has this problem. They think they can use censorship as a tool for change, when in fact, freedom of speech is the master value, and a prerequisite to civil society.

  15. Really disappointing seeing you guys defend Jones on this. Sure he was censored… but by private companies. Hell even on the Info Wars site they had a disclaimer about comments saying they would delete any they want because it’s their site and the commentors are guests. I am not required to let someone use a platform I created. It’s not a public utility no matter how you try to spin it as one here. Now do i think it should have been taken down? No, but that doesn’t really matter because I don’t own those platforms. They could make their own right wing nutjob video platform if they knew the demand was high enough.

    1. @Axtimusprime You completely missed the point of this segment. We already have laws barring hate speech and inciting violence. We don’t need private companies to enforce bans which is essentially banning speech that they don’t like. Do you understand it? Can’t make it anymore clear than this.

  16. Jimmy and Kyle are embarrassingly incorrect on the Alex Jones situation. This has nothing to do with hate speech. No one gives a fuck about that. I feel like both of them are just anti-main show at this point. I love these guys, but wtf are they thinking?

    1. They know that our establishment LIES all the time. They know that Infowars had a VERY popular petition to pardon Julian Assange, AND is supposed to have Assange’s mother on. The petition had over 39K signatures the other day when I found out about it and signed it, then 40K the next morning, then later that day – 3, 139! And now there is NO TALLY SHOWING. Has it been hacked? Very likely. Our establishment has fostered division for DECADES and defended anyone who also helped to divide us – but because of rising support for Assange (the Unity4J activism for several months has been growing across the political spectrum), the establishment most likely did NOT want to see Alex Jones BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER, or his followers learning that progressives ALSO would unite with them for this goal. A united public is what the establishment fears MOST. And I mean both parties, since they have actually colluded with each other to DUPE THE PUBLIC for decades, ramping up with their scamming and propaganda around 1970. The establishment of course has to use ‘plausible lies’ to dupe us – and saying they were silencing Jones because of hate speech was their excuse. Meanwhile, several anti-war voices were ALSO silenced from Twitter (one was reinstated, not sure about the other two) and a FB page called Venezuela Analysis, and others. Anything that UNITES us and/or impedes the agenda of our sociopathic money addicts will be a target for silencing.

  17. The First Amendment right to free speech has limits. These include obscenity, fighting words, defamation, child pornography, perjury, blackmail, incitement to imminent lawless action, and true threats. At minimum in every show Jones hits defamation and incitement. The main show has covered incitement ad naseum .

I think the wholesale removal is due to the recent defamation per se, which is a strict liability claim and may put Apple, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms with deep pockets on the hook for damages. How many lawsuits has Jones’ been involved in? Chobani, the Sandy Hook parents, pizzagate etc. Now he accuses Tom Hanks and Spielberg of being child molesters and Muller of being both a child molester and operating a child sex ring? Accusing someone of a crime or sexual misconduct where you know the accusation to be false is a strict liability tort with huge damages especially when the accusations concern big named celebrities that also have deep pockets. This is the same thing that happened to Roseanne Barr, no one cared until she made a comment about someone with some power that cared. The difference between Barr and Jones is that while tasteless and racisist, Barr’s comments were protected speech and it was wrong to kick her off her show based on her latest tweet, just like it was wrong to kick the kid out of college for standing in a confederate uniform, with a gun over his back, peacefully saluting the Robert E. Lee statue. I don’t agree with either statement, but I support their right to make the statement. Jones however, crosses that line and it creates real world consequence that involve violence.

Yes, you have to protect hate speech to preserve speech that addresses social and political injustice and gives a voice to the voiceless that is unpopular, i.e. the vile execution of unarmed Palestinian protestors by Israeli soldiers. At the same time, you have to uphold the defined limits of the First Amendment and Jones continues to intentionally cross that line with impunity.

    1. If Jones incited violence or used hate speech, then let him be taken to court and let the courts handle it. Letting massive corporations “decide” what’s hate speech or libel or slander, it sets a VERY dangerous precedent.

  18. Please, please please cover Palestine as well when you talk about Yemen. They are both being bombed into submission. Poor people with no power. And we support both with our weapons sales.

    1. I found out why our cabal of greedy sociopaths is destroying Yemen. It is because it is crucial as the transport route for the BRICS coalition. And trying to impede the BRICS coalition is also why the establishment planned and floated anti-Russia items for a few years BEFORE they hit on the one that got traction, and why they are doing anti-China stuff now, and why they made the TPP, and why we see chaotic tariffs imposed. All about the GREED of our sociopaths-in-charge, who cannot STAND to see that other countries could elude the US greed, control, bullying, plundering and heartless loansharking. https://whatifitoldyouthis.blogspot.com/2018/07/lets-take-brief-look-at-what-has-been.html

  19. Seriously? The 1st amendment deals with the government not private companies. PERIOD. Facebook is not a freaking public utility. You are so off on this one. Are you saying that if I start a platform, and it becomes popular, then I have to let anyone say anything on MY platform? Nonsense.

    1. I agree! I am so disappointed that Jimmy has failed to understand these simple truths. Another thing he’s seem to have forgotten is that Jones has dabbled in inciting violence towards individuals which HAS resulted in arrests and convictions. A public “UTLIITY” is something that is owned by THE PUBLIC (eg: road, Post Office, Water companies, electricity suppliers, PUBLIC TRAINS, government buildings etc)

ALSO, ADPOCOLYPSE AFFECTED HUNDREDS OF YOUTUBE CHANNELS. It was not something that ONLY happened to the co-called left.

Jimmy, you’re failing us! Please STAHP!

    2. I wonder what would you say after Facebook kicks you out because you said something they didn’t like. Good luck with that.

    3. No, he is saying that Facebook has become a place where the public gathers that does not have a real, comparable equivalent. I agree with the concept of making it a public utility. And if you believe the establishment is being truthful about the ‘why’ of silencing Alex Jones, I have a bridge to sell you. They NEVER TELL US their real intentions!! And they ALWAYS want to silence people who interfere with their agenda, and they plot as to how to manipulate the public. Just like the anti-Russia stuff, which was planned years ago due to the BRICS coalition forming, and our greedy bastards HATE that countries would elude their control, bullying, plundering and loansharking. And that is why they are destroying Yemen (it is a crucial part of the transport route) and doing the anti-China fearmongering (BRICS is Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), why they were making the TPP (which would also block and harm the coalition) and why we see the chaotic tariffs. Everything that DOES NOT MAKE SENSE means they are LYING to us – and knowing the agenda behind their lies helps us to FIGHT their nefarious, deceitful, inhumane insanity.

  20. A couple of things they should be utilities but aren’t so the 1st amendment argument doesn’t truly hold up and although I am trepidatious about this unless they make them entities like AT&T was back it the day “rules is rules”. Because they are corporations who’s job it is to make money defamation lawsuits and unhinged viewers of his show aren’t good for the bottom line and in the future if he was still talking the shit he does on their platforms might they be libel for what transpires?

  21. I bought a 1 year membership to TYT in November 2017 mostly so I could get the full Aggressive Pogressive show -even bought a T-Shirt. When my membership expires this year, instead of renewing I’m going to become a patron for the Jimmy Dore Show. I’m hoping you will make your way to Philly at some point in the future, or even NYC, someplace in driving distance.
Keep doing God’s good work Jimmy, love you man.

  22. You guys need to have David Doel on to talk about the Alex Jones issues. His was the only intelligent video on the subject on the whole freaking internet. Maybe because he’s from Canada so he wasn’t talking out of his ass. Canada doesn’t allow hate speech but they DO HAVE FREE SPEECH. Germany also has limits. It’s like the gun debate. YOU CAN SET INTELLIGENT CLEARLY DEFINED LIMITS without losing the right altogether.

      1. No, the topic is actually silencing those who dissent and criticize the sociopaths running the country. The ‘plausible lies’ of our propagandists who say Jones was silenced because of hate speech are LUDICROUS. They loved him all these years and NOW want to silence him? Yes, because of the popular petition for Assange – I saw it had 40K signatures in just weeks before it maybe got HACKED yesterday, and the total went down to just over 3K and then DISAPPEARED! The thing our sociopathic money addicts fear MOST is the public UNIFYING against the establishment and elites. And they know that support for Assange has been rising and has been across the political spectrum. And some antiwar voices were silenced, and a FB page ‘Venezuela Analysis’ and others. At least one antiwar voice and the Venezuela page was reinstated – THIS TIME. Beware – they DO NOT want us to unite and be heard, because exposing the greed and lies of the establishment means they will be stopped from doing all their scams to get their endless money streams. These are money ADDICTS, always out to get another ‘money fix’.

  23. Thanks for debunking Ana’s stupid bullshit that she was spewing on the main show. She couldn’t wait to drive a knife into the heart of a free and open Internet so long as it meant taking down Alex Jones. Now that TYT is a big network and has a deal with YouTubeTV she doesn’t give a fuck about the smaller independent outlets that are not as immune to censorship. Freedom of speech is important BEYOND the First Amendment. If we lose it on the Internet then all is lost.

    1. You should watch David Doel’s video, The Rational National, because you are wrong. The slippery slope argument is a logical fallacy. David’s from Canada where they have laws about hate speech that are clearly defined…guess what…they still have freedom of speech.

      1. I disagree with David about this one. He is trying to apply Canada’s laws to America and the world. Someone made a comment that jamarl has a good post about this, but it is 53 mn long and I can’t take sitting and losing an hour to find out what he is saying. Jamarl should have a service so that you get a half a page summary of his points. He is very smart, very interesting, but the guy can talk.
David was too pleased in thinking that just by following his lead, Jones would be kicked off and no one else would be touched. I didn’t know about Jones petition for Assange, and I think it makes sense that the Elites have to shut him down now. David is too naïve on this issue. These big corporations have too much power. And now that they are using the Atlantic Council, goodbye AP it was nice knowing you. This is a very dangerous precedent. I haven’t watched the main show in years, I already know how Ana presented the point.

    2. Do you even know how many videos on the TYT network have been de-montised because of the dreaded Youtube algorithm? This is NOT a free speech issue. Jones still has his own website on which all his pathetic videos are available. the ONLY difference is he will not get those Youtube advertiser dollars for views. Many folks have been banned from Youtube, Facebook etc. Jones is not the first and he will not be the last.

  24. I like the discussion about social media needing to be classified as a public utility, but we have to remember that it’s just not the case yet. Those are still private companies. That said, I am still highly suspect of billionaires controlling speech. This is a point I wish I saw addressed on the main show.

However, a very important point that the main show addresses, which wasn’t addressed on AP, and which was a massive failure on their part, imo, is that Alex Jones defamed innocent people and encouraged his followers to commit violence against them, and they did. There is a woman serving time in prison for this. Defamation is illegal. Actively encouraging violence is illegal. This defamation by Alex Jones was already adjudicated in the courts. This stopped being about free speech when the Posners, whose 6 year old child was massacred, were doxxed every time they moved and were endlessly harassed by Jones’ lunatics.

I’m pretty disappointed by the lack of discussion around this game-changing fact. Sometimes I think Jimmy abandons critical points because he deems being countercultural more important.

  25. I think that Ron Placone made the best point about the Alex Jones situation. They needed to approach it from a first amendment standpoint because I truly believe that Alex Jones’ speech has been unprotected, so he probably would have still lost his platform and we would have set a much less dangerous precedent.

  26. I subscribe for the main show, AP, rebel headquarters and occasionally old school, and postgame. If tyt really considers itself a news channel, how about dropping the endless fluff (nerd alert, murder with friends, all too hip sports movies etc) and getting the NEWS shows right? then if you feel the need for mindless banter have at it. My quess is (how about a poll?) that paying members actually want reliable, promptly posted main shows. and that others are every bit as frustrated as I am by the dross.

  27. Are you fucking kidding me???

Hour 1&2 AND AP are “file not found?”

WHAT THE FUCK? This is ridiculous.

So much for your goddamn $20 mill.
Why don’t you fire a couple more investigative reporters and hire a TECH GUY?

  28. I agree with Jimmy, Stef & Ron, this it’s about the horrible shitty person Alex Jones is or the terrible inflammatory & sometimes dangerous things he says, it’s about some millionaires deciding what speech is allowed in our modern town square & what’s not. Alex/info wars has been peddling that bullshit sandy hook false flag conspiracy since 2012 so I agree that it was probably that free Julian Assange petition that triggered the ban. I also agree with Chris Hedges, we are scary close to being a open totalitarian corporate owned state. Maybe instead of taking glee in watching an asshole be punished(tempting as it is) for annoying the corporate machine we focus on the reality of what’s going on around us. Everyday we go about our lives like we aren’t propping up the flawed corrupt system that’s rigged to subjugate the many for the profit of a few. If only we could be brave & courageous enough to stop drinking the complacency kool-aid & stop participating. Can we the working poor go on strike? I think we can & should.

  29. my gosh, don’t they shoot this show on Tuesday now? they must have had to take it down for some reason; i wish the communication was better for paying customers

  30. Sure would be nice to see what Jimmy said this week, but it seems that TYT’s IT employees are continually not up to the job.

Hey, Cenk. Do you think it might be time to spend some of that $20mil on upgrading your tech staff.

I mean really, wouldn’t you agree?

No offense to the tech staff, but why don’t you work on bettering your tech skills so you can continue to grow with the network that is outgrowing you?

    1. AGREED.
They NEVER give notice on issues.

It’s just blank screen and whenever they finally come back, it’s all, “Oops, we had some trouble there.”

I bet there are a couple 16 yo tech guys in the fucking LA area who could figure this shit out.

  31. Non functioning site—-File not found
I guess your next Jimmy—-sabotage from the neo liberals controlling content within TYT

    1. It’s not just Aggressive Progressives, the Main Show (Hours 1 & 2), Post Game, and Old School are not working either

  32. Jesus Christ Jimmy. There is a fucking line and Alex Jones crossed it. Repeatedly. Without remorse. Fuck that guy.
Also I love how you say it’s a fucking 1A issue because FB should be a public utility. But it’s not.

Last thing – why are you ignoring the fucking ample evidence of threats, inciting violence, and slander committed by alex fucknut jones?

You’re wrong here. Fight for the 1A, but don’t be fucking stupid about it.

Last last thing – You repeat yourself way too fucking much.

Last last last thing – I’m glad you’re here, anyway. You bring to light a lot of shit that needs to be talked about. Much love.

    1. I was about to post the exact same sentiments. Jimmy is right in the respect of banning free speech is terrible and we need to battle this crap with ideas and facts. We all agree. However in the case of Jones, AP is “ignoring the fucking ample evidence of threats, inciting violence, and slander” he has spewed. Free speech has limits and the laws go against speech that will and does bring harm to people. Just watch his video where he acts like he is shooting people and yelling at the scream for others to believe him and those people will actually do it.

I also agree that Jimmy repeats himself in every program. Cut out some of those repeats and cover more stories instead.

  33. It feels weird hearing Jimmy arguing in defense of Alex Jones. Do you also defend Kevin Trudeau when he was peddling cures to things that didn’t work like Coral Calcium and saying it’ll cure all that ails you? When he was telling people that to lose weight you should hardly eat anything an pretty much inject the urine of pregnant women (from what I’ve heard reported) into yourself, in the weight loss secret they don’t want you to know about? Do you defend that speech? He’s been targeted by the FCC for lying, misleading, and causing actual harm to those that he hoodwinks.

What is it that Alex Jones is ACTUALLY doing. Well for 1 he’s claiming a bunch of people are pedophiles, telling them that they’re coming for your guns, that they are polluting the water with fluoride to dumb you down, while blah blah blah chemicals that turn the frogs gay, all so that the holywood elites can kill 80% of the human race. He’s sitting there telling people that the Sandy Hook shooting was fake, and causing irreparable harm to families. He’s being sued on a regular basis because of the lies and slander that he peddles, and why? So that people stay in a constant state of fear so that he can sell his detox kits, gold, and other fear mongering peddles.

Not to mention in a court of law his lawyers have admitted (with his approval otherwise he could have gotten a mistrial or removed his counsel) that he is just a character, that he isn’t real, and then he goes on Info Wars and says everything he says is the god awful truth and that Satan is bearing down on us. So which is it Alex Jones?

This isn’t about freedom of speech, this isn’t about unpopular speech. Whether or not someone agrees that the Second Amendment covers buying guns for your 5 year old, doesn’t mean that the second amendment gives you the right to open fire. Your right to own guns ends when you use those guns to hurt people for no justifiable reason. (unless you live in a stand your ground state where the limits of justifiable are quite a bit stretchier)

We all know that rights come with limitations. When they deplatform Alex Jones I don’t see it as his rights being infringed, I see it as you shouldn’t be forced to peddle someone elses bullshit when you know they are harming people. I don’t want to force a business to HAVE to hose Alex Jones videos. It’s not because of the content of his speech, it’s because of the harm his lies, and his history of dishonesty has created within society just so he can peddle bullshit that doesn’t work. He apologized about Pizza gate, but it seems like he’s still peddling it. It doesn’t matter how many nutjobs he gets to go to pizza parlours with guns to shoot people, and he’ll pretend that’s a false flag in order to get him shut down if it does happen.

We all agree that you can swing your arms around, but you can’t punch me in the face. So why does Alex Jones get to hit people with a baseball bat? That’s what this is about to me. Agree or disagree, this is what it’s about in my eyes.

    1. I agree with much of this. hopefully the video will be up soon so I can see what Jimmy said. But if I remember from other videos about this – Jimmy is more specifically claiming that only extremely large & influential platforms would have these “1A” expectations. I think (or at least I hope) that Jimmy would support the idea of a moderated video platform if it wasn’t nearly critically important to other business models.
