  1. You three might benefit from looking at the political model used by the Political Compass Test. It’s not perfect, but it will give you a much more nuanced view of how authoritarian “leftists” fit into politics as a whole than the gross oversimplification that is the usual American left-right spectrum.

No, I don’t think dictators are very good leftists either.

  2. I think your definition of obstruction of justice is too narrow. Trump trying to influence Sessions is enough to be considered obstruction. The fact that it was a tweet is almost immaterial. That was just the method of communication being used in order to subvert justice. It could have been a phone call, a letter, an email or a facebook message.

  3. Hola tres amigos,

This is Martin from Paraguay, currently based in Portugal. I’ve been a member of TYT for 5 years now and I’ve watched probably every Friday post game show ever since.

Weekly world news is definitely my favorite segment as the main show usually does not cover much of international news. Hopefully at some point a Latin American version of TYT starts and we can bring more progressives down south, we surely need it.

BTW, I really want to buy more stuff from the TYT shop but the shipping costs are way too high for shipping to Europe, any chance you could look into lowering those costs? I really don’t like when the shipping costs more than the article I want to buy :(

    Stay strong!

  4. Trump started the ban of Transsexuals in the army with a tweet.
He supports Republican candidates through tweets.

Koeller’s argument could be right if the tweet was sent by Obama or Bush, and nobody was expecting them to tweet. In this case Trump has made twitter his sole and most important method of communication.

ps: I’m one of the nineteen that watches PG every Friday

  5. There is a great podcast (What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law).

They specifically discuss at times the President’s use of Twitter. I remember one episode the law professor specifically talked about pardon by Tweet. That it is very likely that legally Trump could pardon someone simply by saying in a Tweet they were pardoned. There was another episode that talked about how the President can’t block people on Twitter because it violates the First Amendment.

Therefore, a President’s Tweets are not like everyone else. They can hold the power of law.

So it is very likely that just the act of making that Tweet was indeed obstruction of justice. Trump isn’t exempt because he doesn’t understand the legality of what he is doing.

  6. This is my favorite post game each week, it’s like a smooth mix of the main show and aggressive progressives, with trivia involved! Still waiting on my chance for either Dave or Steve to win me a shirt! Yeah, I’m sucking up lmao

  7. Steve, does Malcolm and Dave ever get mad at you for using your phone during the show? Just curious. Thanks!

  8. As soon as i heard Steve and Malcolm read all these comments I had to put something, but now I can’t think of anything. Oh i know! Dave’s name needs to be added to the opening graphic of TTTBS.

  9. Another great Friday postgame! Glad that there was enough time for TTOTBS.

Excited to hear that the book club is back on because I would like to hear discussion about The New Human Rights Movement. Keep up the great work!

  10. When one of you guys makes a cogent point and Dave has nothing to add to it cracks me up every time.

  11. The South Korean religious leader story should’ve brought out the Ragin’ Asian in Steve. I was kinda disappointed it didn’t happen.

  12. Love the *Right to Privacy* convo especially in terms of the right to get an abortion, and medical privacy concerns overall— codifying abortion with HIPPA into a privacy amendment.

Prepare for a debate where rightwingers point to the 4th amendment, and we’d point to the NSA.

Advertisers’ access to personal data, as opposed to more generalized clicking/search habits, plus their ability to share across entities should be tightly well defined.

Hacked (personal/individual) info should be articulated as punishable, but then caveated in terms of one’s right to know what their gov’t is doing without the peoples’ explicit consent, ie wikileaks/Snowden/Manning… while tackling a case like HRC’s private server.

Maybe the 3 Amigos could find a few more minutes to toss this subject around a little bit more?

  13. BEST SHOW ON TYT NETWORK!!! TREMENDOUS. all other shows are LOSERS, SAD!! FPG makes me a very STABLE GENIUS, which are two of my BEST qualities. I have TREMENDOUS, INCREDIBLE SOURCES who call me and tell me FPG is MOST WATCHED and MOST LIKED SHOW on SAD FAKE NEWS “TYT” NETWORK. SORRY LOSERS AND HATERS on rest of TYT “NETWORK” BUT FPG HAS HIGHEST I.Q. FANS (and i have PROOF) dont feel so stupid or insecure, its not your fault (except it is) LOSER BABIES, HAHAHA SAD!!

  14. Defenestration was the first word that freshmen were taught at Boston University by the head of campus police at orientation (it was and probably still is prohibited). Ennui was in the first set of weekly vocabulary words we were quizzed on in 10th grade. Thank you for making me smile. It’s good to know that there are other real live people out there who occasionally use these words.

  15. Hey Steve, Malcolm and Dave,

Just downloaded this while hooked into my hosts wifi this morning, looking forward to playing it back later from the truck tailgate and finding comfort in familiar fun and hijinks with the three amigos. Like many of your fans up here in Fire Country, I am evacuated and have been living out of my truck for a week. With so much chaos and destruction going on all around, and being unable to enjoy the routine of life at home (but at least my home is still standing, based on last reports…) thank goodness for the Three Amigos and the FPG.

Staying strong in the fire zone,
    Deb in NCAL

    1. Hey Deb,
We hope you’re back in your home soon (if you aren’t already). Keep us updated on your situation and stay safe. We can’t afford to lose a single one of the #Proud19!

  16. “Proud 19” sounds like a tiki torch group. Also, we are not proud.

Ambivolent 19 or somesuch, I should think.

  17. No one mentioned it, but I saw the quick cut to Steve after the mention of animals throwing feces. Well done.

  18. Three amigos! Always the best FPG with you three. Much love, I listen every week (maybe not one of the coveted “original 19” but usually pretty regular), hope to play along with Malcom or Steve for a WWN!

  19. I am one of the original proud 19 and my question is – when did it become a requirement to do Weekly Whirled News on every FPG? I enjoy it, but it takes up the vast majority of the show and doesn’t leave enough time for TTOTB (my favorite segment), not to mention any other activities.

If you must have it every week, why not make it the best 2 out of 3? That would make it shorter, freeing up valuable time for other fun segments or, as a novelty, just talking about current events in general.

But I love each and every one of you with all of my liberal heart!

    1. BFT,
Please, don’t let the bitterness of losing sour you against WWN. Obviously, we don’t do the segment every week as I’m only on the FPG every other week (for the most part). But I like to do it as frequently as I can because the driving impulse that led to the segment was TYT’s lack of coverage of international news. I know we play it for laughs sometimes (come on, painting donkeys to pass them off as zebras?), but I’m serious that I believe TYT should be covering stories like the Zimbabwe elections, the protests in Nicaragua, Iran’s cutting off electricity to southern Iraq, Lula’s imprisonment in Brazil, etc.

I find it excruciating narrowing my options to just five stories – cutting to just three would drive me over the edge. Plus ties would happen more frequently, and I don’t think TYT can afford to give away that many free t-shirts.

Clearly, the solution is for TYT to give us 90 minutes rather than the measly 45-60 minutes we’re currently allotted. That would mean plenty of time for WWN, TTOTB and all the meandering kibbitzing the #Proud19 enjoy so much.

That aside, thanks for the love!

      1. How about TYT spins this show off and turns it into a daily international news show? I know more work for the 3 Amigos but I bet it would become pretty popular and fill a gaping hole in the news coverage. You could even keep the format of WWN and bill it as TYTs daily game show.

  20. Umm, Dave was obviously right–there was no opening to TTOTB. I don’t even know what you other two are smoking ;)

  21. I love the Post Games, but I love the Friday Post Games best, especially the Weekly Whirled News. So I guess it’s the proud 20 now.

  22. a little new to the club here but man this is the true hidden gem of TYT

I think the personalities of you all is the secret. Its why Aggressive Progressives is so much better
with Steve and Malcom on too.

    No ranting
    No talking over other people
No unnecessary repetition or loud voices

Just intelligent knowledgeable adults having informative thought provoking conversation!

I swear if the entire US was forced to listen to you guys talk for an hour a week we would have
peace across the country in a few months!

  23. RE: South Korean Christian Cult

That Fiji Christian relocated cult sounds as bad as some of the North Korean Concentration Camps. Why move 5000 miles away when they had only to go a few miles north?

    RE: Obstruction of Justice Tweet

Wasn’t Tillerson fired via tweet? If so then tweets are “official” government business.

What if Trump had tweeted Comey to “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go”?

It seems that Trump believes that if he obstructs justice in the open, its not a crime; which is Uncle Rudy’s exact point.

    1. Tillerson is the perfect case for answering this question. A trump tweet is official government communication, and should be archived as such.

A break-up by text, is still a break-up, awful as that may be. A trump tweet is often just as cruel + unusual, but official nonetheless. Amirite?

  24. Puzzled to hear Steve Oh claiming that South Korea is one of the most Christian nations in the World and as he claims 99% Christian, when based on statistics that I’ve seen South Korea is only 29% Christian, 22% Buddhist and the majority religion falls under the category of Unaffiliated at 46%, which is also the case for other Asian countries like Japan, China & North Korea whose majorities fall under the category of Unaffiliated.

I think Romania is statistically the most Christian nation in the World(apart from the Vatican if you count that) with something like 99.5% of people there affiliating themselves with Christianity.

Not sure how accurate these percentages that I’ve seen are, but I highly doubt that South Korea is one of the most Christian nations in the World.

  25. What? Malcolm read New Human Rights Movement?

Alrighty, looking forward to hearing his thoughts, and Dave’s & Steve Oh’s reaction.
