I have two huge problems with the number of Republicans who decided to jump ship on their crazy-as-f*ck party and try and just crash the Democratic Party (I wonder if they still call it ‘The Democrat’ Party out of longstanding, stupid habit)
1. They spent years fomenting this crazy right wing garbage in their party. At the very least, they didn’t oppose any of it and likely supported all of it, even if they disagreed with some of the crazy. Now they found that Fascism is a bit too far to the right, and want to come pollute the Democratic Party with their conservative bullshit? No thank you. Go fix your own party. We’re trying to fix this one, and maybe, we can move the entire Overton Window to the left again, and Fascism might become a bad thing and not attractive to 40% of the country. It’s going to take some work.
2. How do we trust them not to switch parties once they’re in office? It’s not like that’s never happened. It just happened last year, actually! A Democratic Governor jumped ship and joined the Republican Party after running as a Democrat. I don’t trust any member of the GOP at all. That includes the voters. Look at the mess they made of their own party. They’ve got a White Supremacist Caucus, FFS! Steve King has not only retweeted White Supremacists, but he’s parroted their talking points on MSNBC. And Chris Hayes didn’t call him out right then and there, and made every other co-host (including April Ryan) not argue the point. It was disgusting, and that’s their party now coming over with all that Stink to try and drag the country even further to the right! I don’t know how much further right we can go, but apparently, these Republican cowards (they are moral cowards who will not stand up for their own beliefs but instead want to try and change our platforms to meet their conservative agendas) are going to try and find out. No thanks. Go the F*ck back to the GOP and throw out the maniacs!
I can’t believe I’m going to quote Jordan Peterson, but I am: Clean your Room, Republican Turncoats!
Missionaries did a DAMN good job making the people in Hawaii DEEPLY religious. There are many people there who oppose Same Sex Marriage still.

Cenk ~ On Hawaii’s having these ridiculous Republicans who are Dressing up as Democrats.
Careful on how much you call out Progressive Hawaii on their right-wing candidates.
It’s a bit like thee pot calling the kettle black isn’t it?
Cali has had right-wing Demlicans for YEARS.
I mean… they call them out too. Have you heard him yell about Feinstein?
Yes, I have. It’s just ironic that the states that are suppose to be “Crazy Progressive,” don’t have progressive representation. Just further affirms my opinion that the DNC-Clintoncratic Party needs to be permanently euthanized. They help no one but themselves & their Owners.
Why be careful to call it out? They call out California ALL THE TIME!
yup, and Cenk would be the first to agree with oyu!
Please tell me HOW Blue Dogs (or whatever bullshit “Centrist” label they give themselves) are these candidates Democrats?!? When vote consistently with this Ultra-Right, Vicious, Greedy, Misogynistic Republican Party you are NOT a Democrat. You are a Republican.
There is no such thing as a centrist Democrat in 2018.
They are Moderate Republicans…and some are not even that!
They are LYING.
I’m counting…Sound board used twice in first 4 min…this is a Good Sign…
MORE SOUND BOARD PLEASE!
I’m not surprised that a CNN reporter has been banned by Trump but I am surprised it took this long. And the fact that Fox news is supporting her amazes me. The fact that Fox news has been disagreeing with Trump lately publicly and vocally makes me feel like I’m having an awesome dream that I don’t want to wake up from. There just might be hope for Fox news after all.
That’s right, scarcity is a choice. It’s a choice progressives settle for when they agree to fight over “tax dollars”. Taxes don’t fund spending at the federal level. Republicans know this. They laugh about it behind closed doors with the corporate dems. That’s why they blow huge holes in the deficit without blinking an eye. Congress creates the dollar. It’s time we start demanding that all programs be fully funded without having to rely on tax the rich or budget cuts elsewhere.
If millionaires and billionaires and large corporations paid their taxes I recon those programs could be easily funded. They don’t need any tax cuts
“Taxing the rich” to fund programs allows congress to put on their scarcity act. “Sorry guys, there’s nothing left. It’s insolvent. The rich already pay too much.” The federal government is not funded by the rich. Ever notice how the cup is always filled to the rim for the pentagon budget? Then, they turn around and act like we don’t have enough to fund medicare? I’m on to that shell game.
Chelling~ It sounds as if you’re calling for PayGo, which is another lie.
When Nancy “People don’t want change” Pelosi says PayGo they mean CUTTING social programs.
They do NOT mean cutting Defense or Oil/Corn subsidies or anything else. It ALWAYS means cutting programs for actual people.
The Rich already pay too much? As compared to who?
How do you think the US got an Interstate Hwy system?
Did Eisenhower cut taxes on the top 1%? No.
The wealthy in this country pay a miniscule amount of what they did in the 1950s, 60s or even 70s.
PayGo only HURTS the middle class & working poor, not the weak & defenseless Billionaires.
You totally misunderstood Chelling. He/she explains the situation quite well.
Thanks squaneenge. I thought I made myself clear, but apparently not to that person. “He” would be the correct pronoun by the way.
Rich taxes were as high as 90% under Eisenhower. He also increased the defense spending, as well. Also, got national interstate hwy system passed, and got education spending increased, as a means of national security. Unfortunately, far more menacing republicans likeReagan, like to not fund education as a principal, to not help people who might vote against him. Ike was prob one of the last truly moderate (or liberal) republicans.
I can’t believe it, but, today, I am every bit as goofy as Cenk and just can’t stop laughing at the famous “Show-Me-The-Buttock”/”‘Murrica!” tape. Truth can definitely be stranger (AND MORE HYSTERICALLY FUNNY) than fiction!!!!!
jeffrey36, thanks for the clarification. It must have been the accent, but I could not understand the new recording on Cenk’s soundboard. I saw TYT’s coverage of the Sasha Baron Cohen’s punk of Georgia state rep. Jason Spencer, too. After watching the segment, I thought, “There won’t be any repercussions for this idiot.” A day later, he resigned. In this case, I don’t mind being disappointed.
Dear Studezilla — Never fear, comrade! I confidently predict that there will likely be UNENDING “repercussions for this idiot”!!! ENDLESS (and DESERVED) mocking cries of “Show me the buttock!” and interminable mimings of Spencer’s naked “backside assault” will follow him around for years — don’t you think? Ah, the oh-so-SWEET “Schadenfreude” of it all!!!!!
The most foolish incompetent authoritarian in history how do you not ensure that the people you appoint are puppets to party and your power. you guys lucky that you don’t have the parliamentary power of the prime minister, obstruction, deadlock is not a thing in Canada.
