  1. There is a documentary called Get me Roger Stone on Netflix that covers a lot of this stuff. And TYT shows up in it! It’s when Alex Jones interrupted their show. It has a clip of Cenk yelling at Roger Stone calling him a liar over and over. Roger Stone asks him, about what? And Cenk says Eliot Spitzer, lol.

    Also his Nixon tattoo is on his upper back!

  2. 7/23 Rebel Headquarters talks about how progressives took over the Dem Progressive Caucus in Michigan. I am very happy that progressives are taking over the Dem Party in Michigan.

    I don’t think I’ve heard anyone at TYT talk about how California progressives successfully took over CA Dem Party’s (CDP) Progressive Caucus in 2017.

    Yes, for years prior to 2017, the CDP “Progressive Caucus” had been commandeered by centrist-corporatists who, too often, used the label “Progressive Caucus” to help conservative establishment Democrats. Thanks to the surge of progressives who won delegate seats in January 2017, we were able to take over the Progressive Caucus — progressives won all Officer positions in a landslide vote of the caucus at the 2017 convention.

    The new chair, Karen Bernal, is a fierce fighter for justice. She addresses the caucus, both in person and in email communications, as “dear beautiful troublemakers.” She’s an inspiration.

    Thanks to what Jimmy Dore calls the CDP “superdelegates,” the system was rigged against progressives taking over the CDP as a whole (this time), but we did at least win back the Progressive Caucus…!

    1. PS – we have definitely won the message war, at least. Just got an email from the DNC urging people to support Emily’s List, and the wording was “help us send progressives to Washington.”

      I stopped donating to Emily’s List in 2016, when they yanked support from Lucy Flores because she endorsed Bernie.

      But at least its nice that even the damn establishment toadies now realize that “progressive” rates far more positively in voters’ minds than “pragmatic.”

Cenk’s comment about how long they’ve been on spreading a progressive message – so far back that they were openly speaking out against the Iraq war – got me thinking about how much they have been ignored and/or buried by mainstreamers. I wasn’t as into politics back then but I was definitely against the Iraq war. Yet I never heard about The Young Turks.

    I grew up in an evangelical household and although I never really cared for it and it gave me no sense of comfort or support, I still technically believed in it and allowed it to influence me. It wasn’t until I finally became an atheist just a few years ago that I found them and it was because I was looking for atheist videos on youtube since all the people I knew just about were religious and it was fairly isolating. The recommended videos eventually brought up Secular Talk which led me to the Young Turks Network as a whole. It’s funny and sad that someone like me that has been a progressive for a very long time (with and without actually labeling myself that way) didn’t actually stumble across TYT until looking for atheist videos rather than progressive videos. That is some epic levels of establishment media bias burying less popular but well supported views.

  7. Dean and Clark? Neither were the most progressive candidate in that primary. I traveled, walked, wrote hand letters, phone banked, and supported the actual progressive, and was derided continually because he was “unelectable.” That’s the code word for “progressive we don’t want to win;” inevitably, the “electable” candidates are establishment.

    I think Dean has proved that; the scream attack was ridiculously transparent, but what has he done since? Supported the establishment. Clark? I have to admit my own bias; I didn’t want a military man in the WH.

    I STILL would like to see the true progressive candidate from that race back in our government.

I’m not an expert but I’ve studied the psychology of human sexuality in both an academic setting and… out in the field… and I always understood swinging to be two couples swapping partners and all parties actively participate . Cuckolding (as a sexual preference or fetish) is when a man enjoys passively watching his wife have sex another man. I guess technically the male in a swinging hetero couple could be cuckolded just because his female parter is having sex with someone else, but generally I took cuckolding to mean the male/husband gets off merely because someone else is fucking his wife.
