  1. That voter ID story makes my stomach turn. I lived in Illinois for six years while I was in college + working a few years after, but remained a North Carolina resident so I could vote there since I wanted my vote to matter more during presidential elections than it would in a solidly blue state and most I knew didn’t become residents of Illinois until after they knew they were settling there after graduating college….

  2. Ana you should have a problem with Trump talking to Putin. If they talk it should be recorded by several people and preserved. If he talks with an official of another country charged with for starters, human rights violation they should not be only so few that they are nonexistent but also recorded and preserved. If Obama did this he would be taken out the white house in cuffs the next day. It is beyond crazy. I can’t believe my eyes or ears what is going on with this white house. I feel that this white house does not care about its citizens. If it can consider handing over a diplomat a mear citizen is not worth more then a penny. I thought if I travel to another country and I am being held for crossing the street between the minute of 12 and 12:01 (a trumped-up charge) that my country would be like “you need to release our citizen”. Now I feel like if Trump does not know me, I’m doomed. How can children handle the stress of their crazy POTUS? ?

  3. Trump is not stupid he’s an idiot. You can educate stupidity but there’s nothing to be done about idiotcy. Gawd help us all.

  4. I don’t care how Trump “goes out”. Handcuffs, straightjacket, or a pine box. I’m fine with any of those options.

  5. FYI – Putin speaks English. He has a pretty thick accent so that may be one of the many reasons that he uses a translator. He also speaks really good German as he comes from the Volga region. I taught English in Russia for many years and was even married to a Russian man. In my opinion, the men often don’t like to speak another language because they feel like they sound stupid or something (not so much my ex, nothing could deter him from sounding stupid). He is also a nationalist so that might be a factor in why he uses a translator. I saw an article pointing out that he uses a translator with Merkel, even though he speaks fluent German

  6. Mostly unrelated to Thursday’s news, something occured to me the other day as I continue rewatching all the old TYT content available to members/continue seeing a giant rift among the left…

Does anyone else find it funny that Jimmy Dore began his foothold at the network doing comedy about how frustrating it was when it was declared,

    “Both sides do it!”

    ?

  7. Here’s a solution to the voting issue:

Follow my state’s lead. In Oregon, we vote by mail. My ballot arrives about 2 weeks before election day. I sit in my robe, in my cozy armchair, with a cup of coffee, my voter information booklet, my phone, my ballot, and a pen. I can take as long as I want. When I’m done, I drop it in the mail.

No polling places. My own address is my polling place. I registered to vote, and everything just shows up.

    1. Washington state does this as well. Only, you left out what I think is the most important tool available to you with this method of voting, the internet.

  8. People seem to be missing the obvious. Trump is trying to get Putin’s help to stay Pres. of the US. He’ll do anything to get out of personal trouble as a true narcissist would.

  9. I don’t know why people never bring up the point that Republicans might be being blackmailed by the Russians with their e-mails.

  10. RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA! What a snore. Every show over the last year and a half has been Cenk creaming his pants over “Trump-Russia-this”, “Trump-Russia-that”. Every day its a story about how “this is going to be the last straw” but nothing EVER sticks. He’s not going anywhere.

  11. Interesting that you seem so less worried about any secret meetings and secret deals with the Saudis or Israel.
Almost as if you have swallowed propaganda…
And why not be concerned about Internet meddling and attacks by Mossad?! They are Israeli Intelligence, Counter-Terrorism, elite trained covert operatives. They could easily perform invasions and interference with elections– even at Trump’s bidding.

You need to spend your fear energy by advocating paper ballots. And trying to get the names of the VENDORS exposed that were not specifically named in the indictment. Spend REAL energy there!

    1. I thought I’d point you towards Kajikirin’s reply at the bottom of this page; you wouldn’t be notified about it since it’s actually a reply to Gathly’s comment.

I’ll go ahead and second what Kajikirin said about how when POTUS met with the Saudis/Israel, TYT discussed how corrupt it all is.

    2. Mossad doesn’t need to hack into US elections. The entire US congress (including stalwarts like Bernie and Warren) are more right wing than Netanyahu.

  12. Ana, about the going of your flow in relaying this hour’s story…

You are sitting next to Cenk “flow-buster” Uygur.

    Good luck corralling that current!

  13. It also tells us about Putin’s attitude towards the US / Trump at the moment:
He actually believes he can suggest assisting the Americans in their investigation of himself,
    and get away with it.

  14. Sharing evidence with the source of the investigation isn’t a problem for Trump because he expected to get the same from his own Justice department. He IS the dumbest man alive, but also because he doesn’t see a difference between our government and the Russian government. The reason is because is he sees the government, and his position as President, as a business. He’s one CEO talking to another CEO, and he’s been sharing company secrets via under the table “bargaining”. He doesn’t know (or believe) what treason means.

  15. Just before Teump’s inauguration on June 6th 2017?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t he inaugurated on January 20th 2017?

  16. I work for a largest electric utility on the west coast. Nearly all electric transmission service operates with physical mechanical switches that cannot be triggered remotely all of which are physically secured and monitored with security cameras. Additionally, we are required to maintain all electronic control networks to be physically separated from any other network such as public internet. When I go to work I am much more concerned with human error, wildfires, or old equipment causing system issues rather than a foreign country.

  17. Here is my take from today’s show. Observing Trump’s demeanor since the secret meeting. I surmise Putin had his way with every orifice Trump has. All the while bitch slapping and verbally berating him.

  18. I just don’t understand this outrage. Would any US spy agency let the targets of their espionage interview their spies? No. Of course, Russia isn’t going to allow their agents to be extradited to the US to face any trial. Press conferences like these between any world leaders isn’t meant to be an actual representation of real deals and negotiations. This is fodder for the idiot public. Putin says some nonsense about “helping” the US and Trump says some nonsense about Russia that he’s been saying since before he was elected. For some reason, the world starts tearing their hair out.

    1. Gathly, you are living in a rational world. With Trump as president, it is not rational. If Trump says he will do something there is a non zero chance if him doing it, no matter what his advisors say.

Virginia, I don’t know how much TYT you watch, but the hosts have talked about those things and are concerned about those things.
Why are they currently taking about what the Russians have done? Because of the charges brought against them and the meeting that just happened. When our president meets with the Saudis they talk about the problems we have with the Saudis. The same with Israelis. Whataboutisms aren’t right no matter who does it.
