  1. I’m surprised Cenk didn’t talk about the perpetrator who attacked the 91 year old latino man. It was a black woman named Laquisha Jones. I suppose you could say it’s not important but you have to admit it doesn’t fit the common narrative of the white nationalists hating immigrants. Thanks to Trump the hate just continues to spread…

  2. Cenk, listen. You really have to cut back on the ad homonyms. I love you bud but that style of rant is a bit dumb ass sounding. Keep up the good work man but check that shit.

  3. Hey, Don’t tell criminal freeloaders to go to Canada. We take in refugees and asylum seekers ..Not american morons. We might take in the broad swaths of the poor that are dying cuz of government policies/ Those are legitimate asylum seekers fearing for their lives

  4. Go talk to Jimmy on Agressive Progressives. I’m sure you will get your answer there. I have a feeling he still doesn’t regret it.

  5. The mom and daughter with different names being harassed by CBP is ridiculous but I actually always bring a letter from my son’s mom when we travel to the US. It’s not just about permission, it’s also to make sure that one parent isn’t trying to take a child unlawfully away and out of the country from the other parent. It does happen.

  6. Ugh.. in my household we have four different last names. My fiance and two of his daughters have the same last name but his oldest has a different one because she came before his marriage and has her mom’s maiden name. Now he is divorced (obviously because he’s my fiance). I’m divorced too and went back to my maiden name. So I have my original last name and my daughter has her dad’s.
God forbid we all try to travel abroad :(
    That story is unbelievable.

    1. The last name rule is nothing new. It was that way when my mom wanted to take us to Niagara Falls thru Canada during the early 2000s but couldn’t because my dad wouldn’t approve my younger siblings’ passport applications (if kids are under 13, both divorced parents have to sign off on a passport application). Even once my little sister was old enough to get a passport by herself, my mom got the third degree from Canada and CPB trying to cross the border.

When we fly in to the US we have to fill out separate immigration forms because she has a different last name than us and they don’t believe we are a family.

  7. Sad times. The buh-bye at the end was the saddest I’ve seen in some time.
It feels like men who can’t get women just want to make sure all women suffer.

  8. Hey Jimmy Dore, how’s your conscience doing these days? And wait a minute, Dr. Acosta clearly never watched “The Handmaid’s Tale” on Hulu because everyone who does knows you NEVER admit to having a doctorate if you’re a woman! Blessed be the fruit….

  9. I was held for questioning at the boarder (Canadian) as a cold when I was trying to cross with my mother. She had a different last name than my sister and I because she had left our father and was a single mom. We had to go into some facility where we were left alone in a waiting room while they questioned her. I was only 6 but I remember there were men with guns and I was terrified that I’d never see my mom again. Even when I have my name legally changed to hypinate both my mothers maiden name and my fathers name I still had to get a note from my father every time I wanted to cross the boarder until I tried 18. this was particularly problematic because he was an abusive drunk and we had little contact with him, he would force us to visit him if we wanted the note. By the way, this was only an issue traveling to the US, I went to Cuba with my mother and step-father (another different last name) no note and no problem.

  10. This was back in the 90’s…. apparently when my mom would take me and my little sister to the pediatrician’s office (in LA, no less), office staff would question if she was in fact our mother, because she had kept her maiden name. Unfortunately, she actually changed her last name to my dad’s because of the hassle. Considering what an empowered, strong woman she is, the fact that she caved still surprises and confuses me. Nevertheless, people really need to mind their own business. Don’t those republicans want less governmental intrusion in our lives? Oh right, only if they approve of what we’re doing. SMH.

  11. America is crazy with traveling. Some years I was in Tampa and wanted to print my boarding ticket, it didnt worked so an employee helped me. She said: It doesnt work, because your German passport is wrong. Your lastname needs to be with ae not ä in it, because in English we dont have it.
Sometimes i think its still the wild west only with smartphones XD

    1. I wonder if we do that with names with diaereses, like Zoë or Noëmi. They should probably give in and drop them on official docs.

  12. “Law” and “order” are also dog-whistles. Hell, it’s almost as if some conservatives’ political ideology is 90% dog-whistles.

It hasn’t taken much to get some of them to upgrade to bullhorns.
