  1. I am actually unimpressed with the coverage of Venezuela story. Why you didn’t bring up two major issues with invading Venezuela is beyond me. First, they haven’t attacked us so it would be a war of aggression which is illegal according to international law (Mr “law and order” Trump). Second, the current illegal war we started 17 years ago (let that sink in) has killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, destabilized the Middle East and brought us ISIS and robbed the American people of TRILLIONS of dollars while the end is no where in sight. All in all a lack luster treatment of a story of this importance.

    1. Perhaps they reasonably assumed it was obvious. Also, Trump and his followers are very comfortable with being hypocrites so the first point is of limited value. Your second point seems to focus on arguing that the Iraq/Afghanistan war is/was disastrous, which is a waste of time for an audience that already knows that.

  2. Two things: First: I wish Jayar would be a more regular presence on camera for the main show. Also, would love to see Jimmy Dore back on the main show from time to time.

Second: if we’re going to invade Venezuela we better hurry and do it before the wall gets built! Otherwise how are our troops going to get back?

Okay that’s like 2 1/2 things. But still.

  3. ?Jayar? you were ON it today, thanks for being on the main show❣️You looked great today too. ???

?John? you have the gift of NAILING IT every time ❣️ You killed it in that TYT Shop MLK tee shirt. Thank you so much for hosting today, and especially for your words on the death of Ed Shultz.

None of us can or will ever realize just how hard Ed worked or how much he sacrificed for We The People. His words at the 50th Anniversary March on Washington moved me beyond words. I’m sure he was so super proud of everyone at TYT.

We fight on in his memory, as he would’ve expected us to do.

  4. Oh John, I’m so amazed you can still act so surprised and shocked over the latest overt Trump offense of the day. Its kinda sweet an innocent, actually.

  5. I hated this hour. I love John & Jayar, and I understand that there was a lot of news to get to (but seriously TYT, real news networks don’t all shut down because of a one-day mid-week holiday which is just another full 40 hour work week to most people), but John tries to cram so much in and the pace is so fast and it was so negative the whole show it felt like I was watching Aggressive Progressives, not the TYT main show and I didn’t enjoy it. It just felt like John “vomited” the whole first hour at me and at the end I felt filthy.

Also, I find it ironic that for years TYT told us cable was crap and we shouldn’t watch it have now progressed into being told we should buy YouTube TV (essentially cable via internet) because TYT is on it and they’re now making lots of new shows that members won’t have access to unless they “uncut the cord” and pay $40 a month for cable; hypocrisy much?!

As to that damn woman who climbed The Statue of Liberty, she HAS to face consequences! I watched the rescue and it took FOREVER and tied up so many public resources that there must be a price to pay. I waited for them to beat the living crap out of her and they never did!! Here in Texas THOT would have SHOT for that, and sadly that didn’t happen here. I hope the judge throws the book at her, and I think even Bernie Sanders would understand why this can’t just be a normal protest venue.

Jim Jordan, meanwhile, is clearly lying or not telling us everything he knows because he can’t even look the camera/American people/reporter in the eye to deny these allegations. Just like Ivanka, Jim Jordan is COMPLICIT.

    1. I just want to make sure that I’m clear: You said that it was sad that the protester, who you called a thot, wasn’t shot by the police.

Member Services, if you’re out there, I hope that openly advocating for police murder against nonviolent protesters on a public TYT forum is enough for you.

    2. dratheart, no, Therese Okoumou does not have to face consequences. None of the people who planned, proposed, authorized, or conducted the war-of-choice against Iraq have faced any consequences. None of the bankers, whose irresponsible business decisions caused the 2008 financial meltdown, have faced any consequences. Being that Ms Okoumou is powerless, female, black, and a naturalized citizen, it is likely she will face some kind of consequence. If Trump’s administration gets its way, Ms Okoumou’s citizenship will be stripped and she will be deported. How many TYT members would run the same risk to help people they don’t even know? How many Texans would?

One more thing, your last sentence on the subject in your post is classic Fox News-speak: “I hope the judge throws the book at her, and I think even Bernie Sanders would understand why this can’t just be a normal protest venue.” It seems to imply Sanders’ support for your hope. You may not have intended to do this. In order for your opinion to stand on its own merits, the following wording could have been used: Even though I think Bernie Sanders would understand why this can’t just be a normal protest venue, I hope the judge throws the book at her.

  6. I find John to be the only host who can fill Cenk’s boots.
    Bravo.
Not just whining about the news, but actually analysing it.
All hail the King of the Nerds!!!

    1. I totally agree! John seems to be the only one with the capability of actually analyzing what’s going on a la Cenk. Whenever Ana or any of the other hosts fill in shoes, I just hear endless complaining, with no analysis. I understand that stuff really sucks right now, and I get their frustration, but some deeper thinking would be nice too.

  7. Lets also note that Venezuela has reaffirmed commitment to the socialist revolution by large democratic margins and the U.S has been waging financial war for years trying to undercut their nation.

    1. Camj, socialists have a tendency towards favoring citizens over foreign corporations. Trump has stated many times that countries should pursue self-interested policies. How is a war of choice with Venezuela in the self-interest of TYT members who are US citizens? This segment reported Trump citing Grenada as an example of military intervention, which the UN General Assembly condemned as a violation of international law. The population of Grenada at the time was about the same as one American medium-sized city, 91,000. Venezuela is much larger. The justification was the safety of 600 medical students attending school there. How many medical students attend college in Venezuela, I wonder?

      1. War with the Bolivarian republic would be disastrous and a crime against humanity. The Socialists turned Venezuela from a backward fascist neo-colony into the pride and glory of the continent. Literacy, pensions, housing and wages all skyrocket and all the people benefited, except the billionaires and corporations. And the gringos will find no easy victory where the people have a strong civil commitment to the revolution.

        1. Camj, you wrote, “War with the Bolivarian republic would be disastrous and a crime against humanity.” By “crime against humanity,” do you mean breaking international law? If so, what does that really mean? Isn’t the United States, defacto, above international law?

    2. That was a long time ago, before Maduro came to power.

Maduro is now a dictator, no different than Castro or anyone else.

      1. Nonsense, Maduro won his internationally inspected elections democratically, The socialists lost two elections and the opposition has control of the assembly, If maduro was a dictator he wouldn’t have allowed the opposition to be seated or run The candidates banned were part of the coup in 2002 and traitors to the state for collaborating with the americans.

        1. He won his first elections.

He lost the 2015 Parliamentary election after which he purged the judiciary, took over the Supreme Court, effectively disbanded the Parliament and called for the election of a parallel “Constitutional Assembly” in which only candidates from his party can contest and banned opposition figures from contesting including staunch Chaveztas like Luisa Ortega above.

The recent history of Venezuela is well recorded and Maduro is the bad guy and definitely not a democrat:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Venezuelan_constitutional_crisis

As for the banned candidates being part of the 2002 coup, seriously?

Most of the banned politicians are strong leftists or centrists who had little military or business connections and have been imprisoned years before the elections. Then again we should not forget that most coup participants were military men who have been pardoned by Chavez and last time I checked that should not ban them from running.

  8. Jim Jordan, professional snowflake.
I work for a company that has offices all around the world. I get emails at all hours of the day and night.
Know what? I respond the next day. Put your friggin phone on Do not disturb

    1. mgscott, good point of view; excellent advice. I think we should help him. What is his e-mail address? After all, I’m not doing anything at 4 AM.
