  7. Ben is fucking ridiculous when he says a politician would not risk his career for a $9500 from telemarketing companies. Just because the politician doesn’t say, “Thanks for that $9500! I will do $9500 worth of legislation for you!” doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a bribe.

    By taking the money, no matter how small, from a company, corporation or individual donor, it is implied that you will do something that the donor agrees with or benefits them somehow. Otherwise, that politician will NOT get another donation from them.

    If you only take small donations from many voters, you will do things the voters want so you stay in office. And if you get large donations from corporations or a billionaire, you will work for them.

    Ben is SO wrong on this point.
    The politician doesn’t have to risk a goddamn thing by making the corporation happy.

  9. The NRA invested so much in Trump because of the Supreme Court. Kennedy announced his intention to retire in the same year Scalia croaked.

    There is a number of cases currently making rounds in the lower courts that will effectively neuter any gun control legislation whatsoever. The most important of them is case that will force states to honor concealed carry permits across state lines.

    Also one cannot talk about the NRA without talking about the broader nation wide obsession with guns that make the NRA strong. 44% of republican voters, that is roughly 22% of all voters in the country rate gun rights as a major issue in determining who to vote for.

    That is we have 22% of the country who will show up to elections just for guns. This country is grazy about its guns.

  12. There was an article of HuffPost today about Susan Sarandon getting arrested for protesting. The general sentiment expressed in the comments section attached to that article earlier today was “leave her in jail” and “lock her up.” I don’t like the Trump cult, but there’s a Clinton cult too. And they can’t take criticism of their leader any better than the MAGA folks. They’ll embrace George Will because he criticized Trump in an opinion piece where he also called democrats deplorable. Susan Sarandon’s criticisms of Hillary Clinton should be far more in sync with average democrats than George Will’s criticisms of her. I see praise lavished on him by the same people saying “lock her[Sarandon] up” for supporting a position they support. It’s really disheartening. Susan Sarandon will be fine. This really isn’t about her. I hear about the dangers of purity tests regarding issues all the time. But- loyalty to any candidate or person regardless of their stance on issues is the real problem. I’m sickened when I watch the Trump rallies. But- there’s some crazy on that Clinton supporting side too. They ignore facts too. Just venting. Sorry.

    2. That has been my experience with Clinton supporters. They are in their own cult of personality. It has surprised me how vicious and vacuous they can be.

  13. I legit am worried about TYT getting shot up or something terrible, please beef up your security. I mean they way the right is acting god forbid trump gets impeached or not re-elected and the dems and the gop blame the justice dems. their crazies may mob the shit out of you! so please stay safe. and Also i just want to add some context, but alot of the gop practices the “southern strategy” and part of the old racist attitudes was mob justice, where they would lynch blacks and others, and these ppl are cowards that get off to the power they get to exert over other ppl. Mark twain wrote about it where the ppl mobbed and wanted to kill a man, but that man had a gun and shot it and the ppl scattered. and that scene stuck with me cause he was retelling something that happened to him and its true. these “cuckservatives” are cowards, but they want to band together and do mob violence cause it makes them “feel strong” and for that reason i suggest having strong security.
